I know mate,I really thought we were going to do it that year, and the following year too, that QF replay defeat to City after seemingly being in control of the tie at Goodison, that Paul Power eh?lolActually followed it on the world service radio as was in France at the time. That was a good cup run....until the semi!!! Brian Kidd grrrr. Frank lampard senior double grrr.

Yep,Tommy Hutchinson wound young Ratters up,he was playing left back that day,I thought that was the end of Ratters that day, what do I know hey?Didn't Kevin Ratcliffe get sent off for a butt in that City game?, which didn't help either.
I didnt really rate Ratters at left back in them days. Different player under KendallYep,Tommy Hutchinson wound young Ratters up,he was playing left back that day,I thought that was the end of Ratters that day, what do I know hey?
Yep,ironically he was probably one of the worst left backs I've ever seen in an Everton shirt, but also one of our best ever Centre back/sweepersI didnt really rate Ratters at left back in them days. Different player under Kendall
No worries mate, good days they were, nice to look back at themThe good old days of football. Thanks again @Dario Terracotta
It was my favourite era of football to look back on. And we were a prominent force of course. No worries mate, good days they were, nice to look back at them
Yep,even though things often did not go for us we were still recognised as being amongst the elite. It was my favourite era of football to look back on. And we were a prominent force of course.
Different times. Before money ruined the game.Yep,even though things often did not go for us we were still recognised as being amongst the elite.
Absolutely. City battered us in the replay but we really let them off the hook in the original tie. Bitter pills to swallow those two cup runs. Never mind we had the mid 80s!!I know mate,I really thought we were going to do it that year, and the following year too, that QF replay defeat to City after seemingly being in control of the tie at Goodison, that Paul Power eh?lol
