I've been chatting to a few fellow blues in work and the general opinion is although it's awful for everyone who goes the game, it could be a positive for us?

Versus Fleetwood when Pickford decided he was Messi and tried to play around two Fleetwood players, fans would (imo) have had an impact.

Versus Palace, the second half would have been (imo) much harder on us.

Then you've got the Goodison boo boys, and add to that the twitchy feeling you get as a blue when we're a goal (or even two) up and we're under pressure, lose the ball and groans ring out across the stadium.

Personally with the way we look at the minute I'm loving watching every game live on TV and I reckon the lack of a crowd is helping us play as sexy as we are.

Gutted the fans aren't there, imagine the scenes in the away end after our two away wins we have had, goodison would be rocking for homes games aswell.

My bad, I searched for "no fans" & "empty stadiums" in title searchs. Nothing to see here sorry mods :(

Sorry to disagree with you but the reason we are playing “sexy” is because of the new signings and the ideas of the coach....nowt to do with empty stadia.

(I never knew that Fleetwood’s ground was such a cauldron that their ultras would have put an established EPL and England goalie off his game....though with Pickford you never know  )

As for the Goodison “boo boys”....the insipid performances after the lockdown and indeed the first half hour versus Baggies have nailed that fallacy that we, the paying matchgoers, are somehow responsible for poor performances firmly on the head.

And it beats me how anyone could be “loving” this current version of football when 40,000 and more of us are breaking our hearts at not being able to watch our team’s splendid start to the season in the flesh.

I think it's swings and roundabouts personally a rocking Goodison can lift a player just as much as booing or griping really. The players have to give the crowd something to cheer about in modern football

Yep away from home it suits every team but it will go against us at home to the top 6 when that bearpit atmosphere has at times carried us over the line
