Seating capacity wouldn't be an issue at all.

This is just in my neck of the woods. Everyone thinks were a bunch of Hillibillies well we are. But we have a stadium here in Knoxville that seats 105k and we easily fill that every Saturday in the fall.

Average capacity for candidate venues combined:
England: 55K
USA: 77K

On top of that, over half of the capacities listed for the English venues are are expandable, future plans to expand or permission to expand to that much. Every single venue for the American venues is the current capacity. Another point is that I used 91K for Cowboys Stadium, but they've already had a crowd of 105K for an NFL game using standing room tickets.

Imagine seeing a World Cup final here:

And watching replays of bad officiating on a 60 yard long screen:

Awesome stadium that. Even Miles Austin looks crystal clear.

Tennesse Blue Mike, I have been to Rocky Top four times. Absolutely great place to watch a game. Nothing better than tailgating by the river. Root for my Gamecocks tonight man. Maybe it'll take a little of the sting out of Friday.

All over that my man. Gamecocks all the way. Always a SEC man and especially since they are up against the Bruins one more win and it's take it to the hooooooouse.

Are you still liking the old ball coach?

Absolutely, I'm still with SOS. If you had told me 10 years ago that he would be our coach, I would have expected to win a little more than we have. But... we have had the best 5 years in our history. You can't change a 100 years of bad football overnight. Team is getting better and moving in the right direction. My wife is orginally from Livingston. You from Knoxville?

I know Livingston. Part of my family is from Crossville but I went to UT in the eighties and stayed in the area. I actually live in North Knoxville but originally came from Liverpool. Thus my huge Everton connection.

Your with Spirit of Shankley? :P

Did we really just turn this into a college football thread? Awesome.

My team (and alma mater) is Oklahoma State, even we now have a stadium that could host a World Cup event. The money and facilities thrown at college athletics is absolutely unreal. While on that topic, I snuck in Neyland while at a camp there in at UT in the late 90's, thing was so massive. And the OBC is doing just fine at USC. He's recruiting great and the Gamecocks have one hell of a team that could legitimately compete for the SEC title next year.

Anyhow, let's say I'm wrong and England (not Spain/Portugal) gets 2018 and the USA 2022...who would get 2026? Back to Asia?
