Player Valuation: £950k
According to sources close to the project, the new England 10/12 away kit made by Umbro will be almost identical to the one worn by the World Cup winners in 1966.

The new England 2010/2012 away kit will be unveiled in March 2010.

The tailored shirts, made by Umbro, will be entirely red with no other colour trimmings apart from a white three Lions England emblem on the chest.

The new top will have a slight V-neck whereas the original 1966 shirts(seen on the right) were crew neck.

The shorts will be all-white, just like Umbro's 1966 England kit.

It is expected the kit will cost around £40-£45 for a shirt and £20-£25 for shorts.

What do people think?

i think its ridiculas that they keep going back to the shirt they wore in the cup final. As if its going to bring luck? As a performance sportswear designer.. i would have gone for something completely different to match the new era. Keep the history and tradition in the home shirt but then have a new colour for the away. Something like Grey, light blue, Navy or maroon would have been brilliant.

You're not the fella who designed our latest and worst ever away kit are you ?

for any fan who's club's kits are made by umbro this year they are really comfortable to wear.

they aint like the normal replica shirts feel they are more like a normal cotton t-shirt on the outside with this inside making it easier to get air to.

my only gripe with these shirts that are made is the bloody price because my lads was £40 and hes only 11 years old which peeves me off and ive seen its about the same price for every clubs shirt.

regarding the design of the umbro england shirt then as someone has said its hard to judge it unless theres a picture but i normally like the design of the england shirt so will be interesting to see how it looks.

If they wanted retro they should have gone with the 1970 WC third strip. It had 'revoloutionary airtex design' too.

There is a trend at the moment to go back to old designs.
Personally, I think we have had some great England kits over the years, but designing a kit really isn't rocket science.
It should first and foremost be a kit that fans would be comfortable wearing, and secondly, I think it is helpful if it is easy to see on the pitch for fans, players, and tv alike.
