Defensive Midfield; Delph, Barry (Wilshere), Rodwell, Henderson
Attacking Midfield; Ward-Prowse, Milner, Sterling, Chamberlain, Berahino
Strikers; Rooney (c), Sturridge, Wickham

Nice and youthful, and probably the best we've got. Can't see Barry in there, probably go to someone like Wilshere.

Again, not blooding in younger players 3 years + ago shows itself up.

The thing is, we saw in the World Cup that teams with relatively unheralded players did well. I know it's hardly ever the case with England, but it is possible for teams to exceed the sum of their parts. I mean how many English players have we been able to say are better for their country than they are for their club? I can't think of many, yet there are numerous examples from other nations.

That midgield is missing the class of Barkley. Wilshere should play over Henderson who is a carthorse at international level. There really is a lack of good english holding midfielders. If Ledson or Lundstram could only step up there is a gaping hole in the squad for someone.
