Relentless is the correct word, with the modern era pressure systems the heatwaves seem to stay in situ for a very long time.

as they lead with a picture of just one person wearing it:
while Lonely Planet reported on these things becoming a fashion fad back in 2017:
The facekini, China’s strange-looking summer beach trend, is having a moment
Then there's this beauty:
Rampant heatwaves threaten food security of entire planet, scientists warn
Sensational stuff! But which scientists? Very worried ones, who claim "I'm really scared."
Terrifying.
But then if these 'scientists' take the absolute worst-case scenario, and then use that to form their scary hypothesis, which then breathlessly gets reported by former broadsheets, then no wonder...really.

Yet no serious predictions from IPCC, NASA, the Met Office, or anyone else with actual sober expertise, believes we'll get anywhere near 4° global increase.
2.7° is the current prediction (by year 2100), and less than 2° is the aim.
IPCC themselves say in a document for policy-makers that human action accounted for only a temperature increase of 1° in the last 170 years.

With even China & India now showing signs of playing ball, it seems more realistic than ever the increase could keep within 2° by 2100.
So why the regular bombardment of alarmism from the media? Are they just trying to make everyone hyper-aware so that we think twice before driving to the shops, or are their intentions something else?
