Match Thread Everton 4-0 Leicester. Sat Feb 1st. 3pm

A defining game, in many ways. Win and safety looks assured - which will be a tremendous achievement by Moyes. Lose and we're back in the mire, because there aren't going to be too many handier home games left at Goodison after this.

That said, nothing is handy for these players.

Head on the block? I don't think we win this. The key will be not to lose it.

We can win this if we with high intensity from the get go.

Try and blow them out the water.

I hope we do. And what an impact that will have been by the new old manager.

But I don't trust these players...and, without wishing to stir controvery, don't trust the manager when there's a prize at stake. Because a win here is a huge prize: effective safety.

Come on, Davey. Ram your critics' words down their throats. I will be delighted to choke on survival.

Pickford

OBrien
Tarkowski
Brantwaite
Mykolento

Lindstrom
Gana
Garner
Ndiaye

Doucoure

Beto

2 Keepers, Young, Patterson, Keane, Harrison, Iroegbunam, Armstrong, Harrison

I would prefer Tim over Doucoure but doubt he is fit enough and hasnt earned Moyes trust. We are down to the bones at the top end of the pitch and threadbare in the middle.
Not sure we should have two Harrison’s and an Armstrong on the bench

I understand the nervousness.

It's a well trodden path with these players,am even more nervous now we'll be without DCL and Mangala.

If we can pull a win out the bag next weekend I'll be convinced of us having turned a corner.

It's almost too good to be true, that. Three wins in a row would be us going far too well.

Yeah, I'm sceptical. Nevertheless, failing to win will not be the end of the world. We must avoid losing, though. That really would be a serious step backwards.
