Everton have released an official statement regarding Manuel Fernandes' collapsed transfer deal.

Statement:
Everton Football Club feels it should clarify the situation with regards to Manuel Fernandes.

We worked hard all last week on what was a very difficult and complex three-party agreement.

Everton staff worked through the night on Thursday, finally reaching agreement with the English footballing authorities on Friday afternoon.

A similar night's work on Friday left us satisfied that we had both addressed and agreed all issues with the other involved parties.

However, on Saturday we were informed that another club had come in with a rival bid and despite sustained efforts over the remainder of the weekend the player today joined Valencia.

David Moyes and his coaching staff are continuing to seek the extra addition to our squad, which they feel they require for this season.
 
Oh well. He wasn't the end all be all of players. He could have done better when he was here and this shows exactly what type of person he is.

I think Everton deserve credit for trying to get him in here, despite the complicated ownership malarkey.
 
It's ok, we get to move for players that appreciate what our club offers and he gets enough money to suitably protect his arse from the splinters he'll get in the coming season.

??Que?? Yes we missed out on talent, but he isn't the only player in the world with talent, and he won't be the last. If you recall, EvertonChris, he wasn't exactly the godsend everybody made him out to be while he was here.

He has also missed out big time. IMO players only become fantastic talents when they are the full package, he should become that but isn't yet.

I have not had time to read through all of these Manny threads but one thing that may well have influenced his decision, and its nothing to do with football, are the terrible events in Croxteth followed by two bouncers shot in Penny Lane. Rightly or wrongly Merseyside is getting a reputation as being a very violent place and I'm sure that this could influence some players when they are offered moves to Merseyside with either us or the [Poor language removed], especially those who have families.

Fernandes wont get a game in my opinion do you think that valencia are going to put up with him running out of steam like he does? I don't think so but atleast now he has shown his true colours.
 
One needs to look at the statement, note it talks of addition to the squad, not plural but singular. Could that mean the Yak and that is the end or another player as well as the yak. Surely if it meant both it would have stated additions. Food for thought.
 
RJ, they mispelt Yobo's name yesterday so its not inprobable that the monkey's at the website have forgotten to add an apostrophe s. :)
