Everton January 2022 Transfer Thread

If we cant afford to spend a fee on a CM and we need a CM then it does make sense to sign one on a free transfer.

Just because you dont rate the player doesn't mean it doesn't make sense.
But even you don't rate the player as you said he doesn't get in our team, so again unless he's signing for Everton on a free, doesn't get a signing on fee and doesn't take wages home, then he is a waste of money, at a time when we cannot be wasting money

Ive read them both now mate ( thanks btw).
Still nothing has changed , it was to do with clubs worrying about Newcastle.

If USM want to plough money in through the stadium ( as long as its not ridiculous) they will do.
Cant see why they havent up to now tbh.

I agree that nothing has changed inasmuch that the PL haven't enforced a single aspect of FFP rules. They've even allowed Everton a £30 million pound pre-sponsorship on an imaginary stadium. If pre-sponsorships on imaginary stadiums are being sanctioned, I really don't think that the PL are taking FFP seriously. I agree with Simon Jordon, who maintains that Moshiri has been hiding behind FFP BS.

You said he isn't good enough to start.

I'm not sure what you're missing here

Gray?

Before the season started Richarlison was guaranteed one wide position and we were in "talks" to sign Luis Diaz for big money.

Saying Gray wasn't good enough to be starting games for us compared to the above isn't bedwetting and not giving Gray a chance its acknowledging he isn't as good as the other pair.

Same way acknowledging Longstaff isn't likely going to shove Doucoure or Allan out the first team isn't hammering the lad or saying he's crap.

We have enough rubbish players as it is. No one should be signed who isn't good enough to start. We need first 11 players not even more squad fillers.

Yet 3-4 injuries and we have 2 goalkeepers and a bunch of under 23's on the bench with people whinging about the squad depth and asking where's the 450 million spent gone lol

Yes we need a starting 11 but we also need cover in numerous areas to compensate for injuries.

Delph is out of contract in the summer as is siggurdsson so thats two players in CM down already then Gbamin may leave if he isnt given chances thats 3.

You can't not replace 2-3 players leaving one position its not FIFA where you can keep the same 13-14 players fit all season.

Realistically we need 2 CM coming in (one starting 11 quality and another as depth) 1 RB, 1 LB (potentially 2 if Nkounku/Digne goes) & 1 RW.

Good luck signing 5-6 *quality** players with magic beans - we will inevitably have to bring 1-2 cheap signings in and Longstaff will likely be one of them.

Moaning about that wont change the reality of our financial situation.

Its all relative - Sean Longstaff on a free transfer and 50k wages is infinitely cheaper than **insert CM name here** signed for £10-20 million on 50k a week wages.

You're still missing the crux of the issue that the club have posted massive losses due to the last 2 DOF's wasting millions upon millions therefore we have to wheel and deal to avoid FFP trouble which inevitably means the odd non inspiring signing like Townsend and Longstaff coming in to plug holes in the squad.

Crying about it and hammering the player before he even signs/kicks a ball for us is scandalous behaviour

Shock horror, fans don’t want player, who can’t get even get in the Newcastle team.

Its not about cheap or expensive. Its about good or bad.

We need more good and less bad players. If someone cannot improve our current team then they cant be all that good because we are crap, so they should not be signed.
