No chance of us splashing any money between now and Monday. I would be surprised if we have any leeway to spend, after releasing the money to pay off Benitez. And even if we did, who is realistically going to be queueing up to sign a long term contract, knowing that this is a panic buy by a manager who's been in charge for 2 minutes and that we could be relegated in May?

I believe you will be incorrect here

Frank wouldn’t come in to a club in free fall without the promise of some funds to strengthen.

You would also expect he has a bonus clause to keep us up, we are in free fall, not going to happen without funding for signings

Mina + Allan have 18months on their contracts.

Coleman is a clown.
There are many clowns at the club but Coleman isn’t one of them. Kenwright, Delph, Rondon, etc

Coleman is not good enough anymore but doesn’t deserve labels like this. He has been mismanaged badly the last few years. He should have been back up to a new right back and played sparingly where he could have done a job.

He was never the greatest captain but has given his all for the club. He speaks well and seems to genuinely care for the club. Let’s not forgot he was one of the best full backs in the league for £60k. He owes us nothing.

Biggest issue us the past week+ will have killed any chance of us moving on players to free up funds be that in fees or wages.

Biggest hope now is loans really, cancelling Ghazis would be huge as it'd free up a second loan spot for an area we actually need.

Well said, Coleman simply got old - and still got picked - not his fault at all.

Happens to everyone eventually if they stay at the same club long enough.

I severely doubt big frank has come in to keep this squad up without planning to bring a couple in, I mean, seriously

Where have you seen this?

He could be a great loan signing with buy option.

I like Ampadu. He was a bit lightweight and probably not going to reach the heights expected a couple of years ago.

Gilmour had more of an impact when under Lampard. Strange his Norwich loan has gone so poorly.
I just don’t like the idea of someone 5’7 in that position. Ampadu is only just 21 and is 6ft im
Sure he’s building himself up.

Gilmour is probably a better all round midfielder though

Chelsea though have produced so many quality players through there youth system, scary when you think about it, even Rive came through it, and thsts why Lampard wanted to bring him to Chelsea before he really exploded and broke through big time at West Ham, shows that he has the eye for a really good young player (or trusts his contacts at Chelsea who've worked with these young players)

Given Chelsea (Lampard as manager excluded) don't tend to give too many of them a chance, it's an obvious source of recruitment we will look to exploit you'd hope.

Gilmour, Gallacher, Sarr, Broja just off the top of my head would all improve us hugely and most importantly fir the long term
