Keane was signed 3 years before Thelwell even went to America with NY Red Bull, never mind becoming DOF at Everton.
If you want to slag the man off, at least try to be factual.

…obviously Keane was before Thelwell (and Dyche) tenure, but the the original point reflected a bias towards bringing in Burnley defenders. I’m not seeing this as the case, be it Dyche or Thelwell.

Thelwell didn't sign Keane, so he's only signed Tarkowski and McNeil from Burnley, I'm not sure I'd call that a "fascination". We've signed O'Brien and Mangala from Lyon, is he fascinated with Lyon too? I know that you are very opposed to Thelwell (but interestingly very forgiving of Dyche despite them both operating under the same conditions), but this seems a strange stick to beat him with.
