People are aware that Leverkusen could be 4 points clear of Bayern at the top of the table by the end of Saturday right? And as such they probably won't be selling their top attacker for just 40m?

We most likely missed our chance with Bailey. There was plenty of evidence of his talent last year when he was a bit in and out of the team and going for him then could have gotten us a real steal. Now the price will be massive.

I banged that drum all summer too. His stock wasn't high at the time but the ability was always there. We've definitely missed the boat now.

I think they are just playing him differently. He is playing more tucked in, he rarely goes wider than the 18 yard box, so he is getting more shooting chances. I would not have him back though, wish him well at Southampton.

Maybe in the summer they'd force that through. In January Leverkusen would rightly tell us to find 100m or get lost.

I'm curious what people think Isco is going to bring to the team in 2021?

We are currently playing a 3 man central midfield, with a DM, Box to Box and AM. Isco would play as the AM. At the moment we have Sigurdsson playing as AM. We can play James there as well, but he gets more space out on the right. Iwobi has been doing well on the right so, when James is fit the manager will possibly play James instead of Sigurdsson.

By bringing in Isco I would imagine that he would play instead of Sigurdsson as AM. Or he may play in a more attack minded midfield, in some games or at certain times, when we are chasing games or trying to unlock defensive sides, we may play with 2 AM and without a Box to Box midfielder.

I think in general we need better standard of options in midfield, the likes of Delph, Sigurdsson, Davies need to be replaced, we have so many games in the Premier league and domestic cups, there will be more injuries, suspensions, etc, so Isco would get plenty of opportunity to play here.

When he was good Isco was outstanding.

Unfortunately he hasn't been good for some time.

At the top of his game he was very creative and could also score a goal. However as a midfielder you didn't get a player who would track a run or do any defending.

To that extent it is very dificult to see how him or James could play in the same side, even if both were at their best.

I think it's worth trying to loan another body for the midfield, Delph is a crock, Gbamin is unknown and Gomes and Davies are up and down.

Barca is, what, 800m in debt and almost about to declare bankruptcy? Real isn't that far behind. France is in dire straits from no crowds and their TV contract cancelled.

There is no reason, at all, to not be doing something this January.

I'm not one for doing an Esk with regards to finances but our wage to turnover ratio looks really bad.

That might play a part in how active we are in January.

Not expecting much personally, at least without significant wages being moved off the books.

Moshiri may have money etc but FFP still exists, despite what some of our fans seem to think.

We either accept mediocrity or we push on and take advantage... certain opportunities like this season don’t come along often.

All them years we would be 4th / 5th come Jan.... sign no one and fall off a cliff for like 2 months to end up finishing 5th or 6th.

Sign players and forge something for next season when things start going back to normal

I think when Coleman is fit, if Allan is out long term, Holgate can certainly "plug that gap" in the interim, a good athlete and can get around the pitch no problems.
