What is so special about this forum to need a meagre 50 posts to gain entry. With all due respect it seems childish to me and unwelcoming, whats in there the crown jewels. If some one wanted to unearth this terrible secret then 50 posts could be done in one session using smilies. If this is some sort of security then surely a lot more than 50 posts should be needed, seems daft to me.

Sorry to bring this up but the post restrictions on a media forum is needed.

Some of you are probably aware that i run a general Football Forum and we to have a similar board where media stuff goes. The thing is we spend alot of time finding this clips of media and our members spend alot of time capping and cutting media for our members.

The least someone could do is return the time by posting around the site in order to gain access to that forum for the rest of the time the site is around, its not asking much.

Other sites could just refuse that privaledge (sp), others could even possibly charge you for it.

This site just asks for a bit of give and take.
 
And, to be brutally honest, a lot of the media content is potentially breaching copyright and a post limit puts it beyond the prying eyes of the collection agencies who send a percentage back to the original owner (e.g image banks).

We have numerous repeated threads and numerous spammers who constantly have one eye on their post count. You should be encouraging people to be concise and ignore their post count.

I've been here for over 2 weeks and don't yet have 25. That's a GOOD thing on a site like this not a BAD thing. Quality not quantity. Sometimes the site is so clogged with nonsense and repeated threads that it becomes impossible to wade through if you haven't visited for 24 hours or more.

I could have access to the Media forum within 20 minutes but it would be meaningless spam and that would only add to the mess.
 
Lads/Girls, its nothing to do with members posting to have the 'privilege' to gain access.

We just don't want 'newbie' members going in there and posting illegal material.... (get it now??????)

not necessarily.

the recording of copywritten material in an individuals home is allowed as long as the material isnt broadcast to an audience or sold for profit to a third party.

i believe its a perculiar set of rules throughout europe - there was a time brussels wanted brits to be charged more for blank video tapes.

this is all long lost info im not 100% on. its not far off though, based on that time and the rules of that age.
