Granted I have not been an Evertonian for that many years but seeing both Neville and AJ on Saturday got me thinking. When was the last time - in recent history - that England started with two or more Everton players in the side?

I thought the same thing as I watched the match GD, answer is I couldn't remember! I'll make some research and come back on this one, I would guess it would be in the 80's when Reid, Steven and Stevens were in the England melting pot. It certainly happened when Labby and Gordon West played in Mexico 1970

In 1988 it was quite common but that was the last time it happened I think.

Against both USSR and Scotland we had three (Steven, Stevens and Watson).

Cottee played a few the next season. Rhino played once, Hinchcliffe a few times and of course Rooney.

Yes but when did it happen last Bruce, I can't recall the exact occasion but enquiries are being made as we speak;)
