Maybe. I'm not comfortable with it, tbh. But I'm not comfortable with gambling sponsors and an owner who helped rip off a country's resources in the employ of an oligarch either.

That's fairly conclusive then and the club should be well aware of his views already regardless of any articles in the media.

I don't think footballers should have to promote things just because they sign a contract and I gave him the benefit of the doubt as things are easily misconstrued and assumptions made (and i recognise there are reasons why the views are held) but clearly they are held views so we should avoid.
