Thing is he was looking sharp and over his problems of last season, he didn’t deliberately set out to get injured on the eve of the season. It got highlighted more because of Rondon’s suspension
No one said he got injured deliberately. But I think we absolutely should have been prepared for a scenario where he broke down ago because it was very possible.

We took a totally unnecessary gamble thinking we could somehow get by without replacing Richarlison with another goalscorer. It was a total ludicrous strategy and our fans as usual got sucked in by signings, but they were not the right signings, especially Mcneil.

He missed 5 games over 2 separate small injuries.

This notion that he’s injury prone is utterly bizarre IMO. He had stupid broken toe then picked up a bad injury and struggled to get back last season. He looked sound in preseason
He is clearly injury prone. He got an injury in August and didn't regain close to his full fitness at any point before the end of last season. To think he would just play every week with no issues was totally naive.

A preseason where we knew Richarlison was leaving & Dom was our only goal threat. What on earth were we thinking not getting in a real genuine forward as back up just in case. Now we are desperate & every selling club knows it.
The ones we wanted might not have been available? Or we made offers that were turned down.

He looked over it all preseason though and raring to go
He looked good in the Kiev game but he did also have to miss a game at Blackpool a week earlier. The warning signs were there but we chose to ignore and go after McNeil instead and now the pursuit of another ex player in Gueye - it seems to be essential in every Everton window to try and re-sign someone we previously sold.

So almost every player would be injury prone then if they had long term injury.

Injury prone, to me is Yerry Mina; someone who will never be fit and can’t string 10 games together

Surely there must be a pacy striker somehwere in the french, dutch, german or belgian leagues. Who playes up front for the likes of Lyon, Standard Liege or Leipzig?
Been looking at a few in France. Guirassy at Rennes the most mentioned but none of Joyce/Bobble et al have confirmed it, yet.

The French league seems to be where we are looking atm, Guirassy, Dieng and Ajorque

He was out for most of last season that's recently injury prone yes. We finished 16th by the way 16th and just stayed up. They also sold our talisman who carried us on his back for financial reasons of their making. Too many people making excuses for total ineptitude and negligence from the board and owner..

This is the result , any competent board however desperate doesn’t sell its main attacking threat without having some form of replacement lined up
Exactly where was the plan? Or was the plan to rely on Dom? Because he was never totally filling the void even if he was fit all season we need more forwards who actually produce in the final third. We have sold so much creativity in the last year and are left relying on a kid in Gordon and two squad players (if we are being real). And will Alli ever get a run?
