Soz, I am just basing it on the fact we have a new manager, and two billionaire owners as well as the pattern of the last 5 years.... there will be big signings, much as I hate to rain on the many doom mongers amongst us... it will happen.
I agree. The financial part is something that is always there, and obviously there are limits on spending. On the managing of finances and transfers he said “But there is doing that, and still being ambitious”. I take that as a positive and still see significant incomings.

Well Bowler was quoted as £4.5 million when we bought him for starters . . .

Also, where on earth have you got the idea that Moshiri signed Tosun from. Come on lol lol .

You obviously love Walsh, but let me tell you, the man was a chancer. He was my old PE teacher and knew very little about football in general. He was a nice enough bloke but was full of it. He used to claim that he'd discovered Zola and Drogba for goodness sake. Because no one had heard of them when they went to Chelsea lol. Saw him years later and he was dropping lines like: "Jose needs me in Bremen."

He benefitted massively from being part of well developed systems at Chelsea and Leicester. Our recruitment hasn't been up to much for a long time.

And I return to.my original point- he's spouting guff about those lads. They'd have been on scouting lists of most clubs. Just face-saving nonsense for helping to damn near cripple us financially with bad buys.

Well no, Bowler was quoted at £1mil (or less) with it increasing to £2.5mil (or maybe £4mil) based on loads of bonuses.

Same as Gibson...same as Adeniran. The club always offers small amounts with loads of clauses/bonuses.

Moshiri has stated he watched Tosun knock in a hat trick for Besiktas and went after him -- im sure someone can link you.

"You obviously love Walsh"...stopped reading there.

Yes, that is key

He won't be getting top 8 with the current squad unless it is overhauled.

I am more than happy to give Benitez a chance to stamp his authority on the club - I don't care about his baggage - but he is utterly delusional if he thinks he can improve on last season with the current rabble, sans James, at his disposal. If ever a manager needed "Hollywood" signings, it is Rafael Benitez. Especially as he will get rid of our one loved Hollywood superstar.
Really surprised by how people rate Benitez in general. Apart from his ties and what he said.
Glad in a way that expectations are really low.
