Everton Summer transfers 2021

I don’t think people really comprehend how much of a mess Ancelotti’s sudden departure leaves us in.

The likes of James and Allan won’t want to stick around here now. Richarlison will want to move on regardless as he wants CL football. The plan may have been to look at getting 3 players around the first team off the books, likes of Iwobi, Delph Bernard & Davies... if the former two do move on thats two massive holes that need filling within the team already. Knowing we need at least 3/4 quality signings this summer it’s obviously threw a massive spanner in the works.

My other major concern is the new manager will want to wait and check out what he has available to him and decide to keep the jarg players above and give them another chance.

It’s not great.
It's only a mess if the squad isn't rebuilt correctly. Brands has had a mixed bag but trending better.

But we could have been in a worse Situation in 12months had he stayed. I get the feeling most fans aren’t bothered he’s gone. My only disappointment is we have to start again and we probably won’t attract some big names now.

I fell into the trap of wanting it all straight away. Now we need a proper process. Hopefully Brands now runs the ship. And he will either buy the players and get a coach who fits style that Brands wants. Or he get a manager/coach who works with him on recruitment.

I think James will go. Allan I think will stay he has 2yrs left and nobody is giving us our money back. He also seems a decent guy.

If we loose a Richarlison, then so be it. We needed at 4/5 players this summer. If we end up needing 6/7, there’s not much we can do.

To me i see it as a positive. A chance to finally do what we should have done 4yrs ago.

I always have this anti-Ajax agenda.

I think they produced some of the best footballers ever but recently (last 10 years) when they move from Ajax, whether it's over-coaching or under-coaching, they never hit the ground running.
Playing as a team in the system they all play they are very good. Take them out and individually insert them into a more athletic league like this and they wilt. The lad at United is the most recent example of that.

Easy to pick and choose because Everton have picked the wrong ones. Some great Dutch players have played in, done well in, and some are currently playing well in the premier league.

It's not just Everton. Janssen at Spurs, Afonso Alves at Boro, Altidore at Sland, Depay and Van der Beek at United etc. etc. etc.

It's a poor league. Defensively atrocious so attackers have a field day at the bigger clubs. You get the odd genuine talent like a Suarez or Van Nistelrooy but it's basically a lucky dip.

Good chunk gone.

At last we can stop throwing £50 notes in the furnace. Just imagine if we could get Cenk, Bernard, Delph, Gomes and Iwobi out too (although Tosun is crocked until next year so I doubt that). Unfortunately we'll lose another high roller in James and Carlo off the books.

Can't be bothered to sit and do the calculations but that's got to be like 57 million per year saving. :p

Finally closing the door on the previous regime so this is when we can really start to judge Brands.

Depay is a good player that United team didn't suit him

Yes, funny how often that happens with players who do well in other leagues isn't it?
What?

Seriously Depay would be good in England in the right team, I'm not sure how good, but playing in a Van Gaal side he'd be terrible in England, Netherlands, Algeria, Costa Rica, wherever because it isn't playing to what he's good at.

What's funny is neither is Koeman most likely so it wouldn't surprise me if he struggled at Barca.

I doubt it very much. The same excuse is made for Van der Beek; truth is he's lightweight, technically proficient but can't cut the league. Depay looks tremendous in France, would be a fish out of water here, as proven already.

Davy Klaassen is doing great at Ajax again. Funny that.
