It's called being pragmatic with your assets mate; seems clear as day to me that's what a sane club would do regarding Gibson.

Pretty sure the Gibson deal was from a prior agreement in place with the club - possibly a clause in his contract.

Stek is absolutely fine as a back-up keeper on a cheap fee with relatively low wages who has experience and provides competition for Joel.

He won't be first choice.

I'd wager it can get much worse, if we decide benteke and henderson are our answers to our problems.

Stecklenberg, on the face of it, does appear to be a huge waste of wages. Surely Robles isn't worse than him? Taking age into account too. Really weird signing.

We currently have 1 senior goalkeeper (Robles).

Koeman has publically stated he prefers 3 senior GKs in the squad

Zat, he has one good half of a season at Inter.

He wasn't even that decent in 2014/15 - slow on the ball at times, hesitant, didn't really run at players etc. Then he's not
Made any impact on Real Madrid's Squad (not that that's to be scoffed at)

He's obviously a talented lad, but for £30mil we could do a lot better, was my point.

Loan or a cheaper fee would be sound. But I'd much rather get Schneiderlin, Witsel or Strootman

People still moan we bought Lukaku for too much - even though he's scored 45 goals in the last two seasons

Ain't no way Gibson will go for a fee. Or if he does it'll be a nominal one in January, when we've already paid him 1.5m in wages for doing absolutely nothing! Disgraceful to throw a new contract at him.

I'll balance out my anger though by being delighted to see the back of Pienaar/Osman/Hibbert, as I were somehow expecting at least one of those clowns to get a new deal.

Still time to re-sign them.
