Zat, he has one good half of a season at Inter.

He wasn't even that decent in 2014/15 - slow on the ball at times, hesitant, didn't really run at players etc. Then he's not
Made any impact on Real Madrid's Squad (not that that's to be scoffed at)

He's obviously a talented lad, but for £30mil we could do a lot better, was my point.

Loan or a cheaper fee would be sound. But I'd much rather get Schneiderlin, Witsel or Strootman

He's brillant and played 25 times last season.

He was also amazing at inter.

Have you watched much of him mate?

When he was at inter mate i seen him play yeah. Not so much past couple of years though.

I wouldn't say no to Benteke.

I would.

12 months ago i would have loved to have him here sure. But liverpool actually did try and play to his strengths and he has been terrible there. I watched the stoke cup game back in january and they were looking to cross the ball into him quite a bit and he just didn't look interested.

It isn't going well for him at Liverpool but he's a good player. Seems like the kind of CF Koeman would appreciate and get the best out of. We need some real competition for Rom(I think he'll stay) up front and potentially a partner. Benteke would add both. He can hold the ball upand, he's a good age and he's also a very good finisher when he's in form.

aye i agree he isn't worth 30 million, around 18 would be a fair price.
@BlueToff

Kovacic was 22 in may
43 games for dinamo
80 games for inter
25 games for real
29 caps for croatia

barkley was 22 in december
114 games for us
22 caps for england

You rate Kovacic at £18mil ? How about Barkley?

Its not FFP its something about cost control.

£50-60k of course is an impact on wages when it pays for one of tbe stars extensions, thats the point of people wanting to sell, ro increase wage allowance in the budget.

There has been an thread on it started by Esk. Essentially, underwhelming as they may be, these signings make not one jot of difference to the need to sell Rom or Stones. If we hadn't signed them, we would still be in the same position - we need to make a big profit somewhere to allow us to increase the wage bill. We can afford the wages, the amount paid to the likes of these 2 make no difference in that regard. We just aren't allowed to increase the wage bill under the rules unless we make a big profit.

From memory it took him a whilst to settle at Inter, when he did he played great, coincided with mancini becoming manager who allowed him to make a mistake or two and gave him confidence - previous manager didn't give him that - sounds a bit familiar with Barkely and moyes maybe

A very very good player from the little i have seen - is he worth 30m though - god knows the prices on players is going a bit mental, and buying off Madrid you will always seemingly pay a bit of a premium

Not my money though so if we got him then wouldn't be that arsed what the fee was overall as the lads a talented player

seems very likely thought that we are after 2 seperate types of centre mid atm, witsel/Schneiderlein (more defnesive minded centre mids)- and Strootman/Kovacic (box to box - full of energy and can create a fair bit type)
