An update from afar:

Am still expecting Hart on loan
Am expecting Kone to complete
I think we'll create a surprise and probably sign one of our earlier midfield targets (we're still active here).
We'll sign another forward.
We are actively pursuing other targets on Walsh's list - who they are I do not know, Walsh plays cards v close to his chest.

In all 4 possibly 5 additions.

Out:
McCarthy
McGeady
Niasse
Kone assuming incoming striker
Cleverley
Thanks Esk, much appreciated.

Tbh, I also expected this window to be massive in terms of restoring Everton to greatness again. Moshiri's vision and millions would see us take a massive leap towards the Premiership elite. Little bit naive in hindsight. I'm convinced that even Moshiri and the board thought it would be easier. Seems the Martinez years have seriously hurt us as club.

However, whatever happens in the last few days of this window, my faith in a golden future for this club stays intact. Yes, it's proven much more difficult (probably impossible) to attract the level of players we were aiming at. Still, a lot of good things happened since Moshiri took over. Club debts have been cleared, by I admit unconfirmed reports. We got the manager who was Moshiri's no 1 target. We got the DOF who was for a large part seen seen as the mastermind behind Leicester's rise to glory. And we're on the verge of announcing plans for a new stadium on the banks of the royal blue Mersey. A stadium which will make the kopites smell of envy. Don't worry about that sewage plant, that smell will overwhelm everything.

So, enough things to get excited about. We're on the road to restoring Everton to its former greatness. Might just take a few years longer than expected, but we'll get there eventually under the guidance of Moshiri and the help of Koeman and Walsh.

EVERTON ARE BACK!!!
Dutch it will take time. The pieces in the puzzle are starting to fit. My thoughts are look at us two to three years from now to get a better understanding on Walsh and Koeman. Myself I am psyched big time over what lays ahead of us. Nice stadium on the waterfront and I will be over the moon. Keep the faith.

So cashflow leaving a club is different to non-cash items booked to the P&L, e.g. an annual share of the depreciation, hardly re-inventing the accounting wheel here? It is no different to Man Utd buying a new minibus for the U-11s at £50k over 5 years.

I was just sharing that bit from the article since so many people are obsessed with net spend?

Not being funny mate, but you had no info on Williams, Stekelenberg, Gueye, Bolaise or the bids for Kone and the Southampton full back.

Not even mentioning where you have been plain wrong about Martins Indi, Januizai etc.

At what point do you start to question your own sources?

I had information on two of the above but I've not been online throughout all the last 3 weeks.

Anyway that's not relevant. The difference between the information I've provided and what's happened is not as great as most like to make out.

I was premature on Witsel, he walked away from an agreement made before his holidays, however the information at the time was 95% correct, there was a definite expectation that he was to sign. Similarly we got extremely close to Mata before Jose started playing games and his agent started touting Mata around the market place.

The rest of the stuff was correct at the time of publishing, sadly they didn't work out, so I'm pretty comfortable especially when balanced with the stuff that did happen over the last 6 months.

Appreciate not everyone sees it that way, and I'm not really into justifying myself, all I've done throughout is pass information on.

The amount a club spends on players is hugely important. Obviously wages are a big factor too, but the suggestion that net spend isn't important is utter nonsense.

With those players leaving mate, we would absolutely have to sign a quality central midfielder - we'd be left with just Gueye, Barry (35yo), Gibson (terrible fitness record) and Davies (young and unsure if koeman thinks he's ready) otherwise with Besic being out for the season

We go again.

I don't agree.

Value for money is what's important, or at least, who you buy with what you bring in from a sale and does it improve the team in key areas.

So far, from our major sale, that has happened.

Its your fault Stones was sold, and I will never forgive you!

Only a week to wait Steve and then we can be sure, ey...
