Everton Transfer Thread 2016

I'd like to play Devil's advocate to the "it takes time" crowd: How many players currently in the squad will still be around and productive following the next World Cup?

The squad is better today than it was on July 1. But the current regime aren't exactly prepared for 2018. Five regulars are well into their 30s, and its unclear how the mid-20s crowd (McCarthy, Cleverley, Besic, Oviedo) fit into Koeman's plans.

Yes, this is going to take time, but I don't think Moshiri is behaving that way just yet.

So....we're not signing anyone else in between now and 2018? I don't quite follow what you are getting at?

An update from afar:

Am still expecting Hart on loan
Am expecting Kone to complete
I think we'll create a surprise and probably sign one of our earlier midfield targets (we're still active here).
We'll sign another forward.
We are actively pursuing other targets on Walsh's list - who they are I do not know, Walsh plays cards v close to his chest.

In all 4 possibly 5 additions.

Out:
McCarthy
McGeady
Niasse
Kone assuming incoming striker
Cleverley
If I hadn't broken my zip because of previous posts, I'd unzip. But I'm older and wiser now, so I'll watch this space with interest.

I imagine Koeman only decided to come here because of assurances of having money to spend. Same with Guardiola, same with Mourinho etc.

Then you are sadly mistaken.

He is here because we doubled his salary. There will have been prelim discussions about transfers.

Another poster there, falling into the trap of thinking that everything in football revolves around silly season.

And Pep and Mourinho went to their respective clubs because of the money on offer and because they are currently two massive clubs in global football.

You don't know a thing about why Koeman agreed to come, stop being so condescending. Seems to be a trait of yours.

Our new signings have made us stronger and sell the likes of
Kone,clev,gibson and mcgeady.

Buy a keeper
Buy a backup striker if we sell kone

A cb is not important, we could wait till Jan I'd we can't get kone.

A keeper is important and spend a back up striker.
