Well, I guess if I were Yarmolenko I would have crossed out EFC. Hard to say but why join a mid-table team about to sell their best player. I enjoyed the dream while it lasted, though.
 
The key point when discussing player sales seems to be the money coming in and how to spend it.

we have £50mil EXTŔA TV REVENUE this summer.

We could actually go and spend on another Lukaku/Stones/Barkley level player rather than sell anyone.

Add the Naismith money and we are flush....

If we sold Stones/Lukaku they would need replacing but how to spend the money as we only need an additional GK and LW for the first eleven and can buy them without selling.....

Selling is pointless.

Except everyone in the BPL gets the extra 50M, so prices also go up for everyone. I agree that there's no reason to sell, but if the players want to go because we're perennially underachieving and they start causing problems, then it becomes a reason pretty quickly.

Of course,but basically a club in the prem would be able to sign stones for similar money to the new added revenues....

What we should be doing is looking at our own £50mil + £8.5mil for Naismith + Yarmolenko money and spending it to encourage players to stay.

When we look overseas with this kind of money we can get real value...Stones and Lukaku may well be thinking that the club is 12th and not too chuffed BUT what would they be thinking if they knew we had made a bid for:

Dele Alli = £60mil ? Perhaps they would want to stay?

Also, rather than Dele Alli of course (which although highly improbable is not an impossible signing as we have money and also Barkley to play next to him which could entice him to join) we could actually just do this:

LW superstar = £20mil
World class keeper £20mil
Striker = £15mil
Centre mid £15mil

Or however the money is allocated out...i think if Stones and Lukaku saw this then they may think twice about staying...

However i cant understand why we havent made at least one top signing this window as in the summer prices will rise anyway and we are so short in a few areas....its really odd.
 
Alli hasn't even been at Spurs for a full season, I don't think he'd leave them to come here at this point. And I think the prices you're quoting for the type of players stated are optimistic. 20M for a world class keeper? Which world class keeper is available for 20M?

Whats odd is that you think we have 70m to spend on players.

We will probably gain around 20m TOPS from the new TV deal, our accounts last year showed we almost broke even accounts wise, so I make that 20m extra + 8.5m for Naismith - 3m for Tarajihi = 25.5m and thats being very kind.

I notice you added a mythical figure you claim we had for Jargemenko, its likely the new tv deal "bump" would have paid for him, cos I dont see any surplus within our accounts.
