At some point you would like it to turn around. If we don't win the Europa League then all we'll have left of this season is this rubbish from start to finish. No improvements. No clue. Big players seemingly going backwards in their performances or wanting to leave. Could we really risk another season of this?

I don't know. I like Martinez and when we play boss and I like how he plays when the tempo is high but I'm just getting that sinking feeling he's too soft. He can't motivate his team. This season it's only in the Europa League especially after our bad start. Last season we where pushing for top 4 and playing well. With Wigan it was either for cup runs or at the end of the season to avoid the drop. When there's not much to play for his teams seem to be in a coma.

I know we gave him a long contract and it's a bit of 2nd season syndrome but it doesn't look great.

He impressed big time in his first season. This season at least some of the blame is at his door. I would give him until next Christmas to make significant improvements. A serious spending spree for QUALITY players in the summer is essential, both in midfield and upfront.

Playing 2 defensive midfielders and 1 striker against a 5 man defence from the bottom club in the league.
For playing slow turgid football which was like watching a friendly.
We should have ripped into them from the start today he got his tactics wrong yet again.
Oh and by putting the flapping beard in goal
I saw a lot of players with low energy from early on.

We played in the EL a few days before away from home on a terrible pitch for conserving energy.

The 'good' news is we wont have that to worry about next season so I expect the tempo to be much higher each week.

Said it the other week to you Dave, but a massive clear out and i mean MASSIVE in the Summer and we can push on IMO. The clear out includes staff and players as well (No, not Martinez, i want him to stay).

Those who are claiming Leicester "parked the bus" are deluded: they attacked with pace, and when they lost the ball, our defence/midfield took so long passing between themselves, the opposition had made their way back into a defensive formation. Teams really have Sussed Robbie out this season
The pace at which we played the first half you would have thought the players had jogged back from Switzerland

i hope to god martinez knows that we "defended with fear" because howard is in goal. the same back 4 who were looking solid a few weeks back! no coincidence like.

Defo. A mighty axe needs to be wielded.

He needs player in who can play his system and we need a season out of Europe to have a think about how we can play in there and cope domestically. No bad thing missing out on that next season.

We knew beforehand that Leicester would pack their defence given their position so we should've had a better policy to try and breach it. Instead from the off we went back to the slow ponderous build up..short pass sideways/backwards/back to Howard/or worse back to a player who didn't want or expect it. Im afraid Baines was one of the worst culprits for this slow approach....and I know hes been injured and out. We looked very sluggish...not like a side that had won 4-1 away in Europe...but in spite of the slow play we still looked very vulnerable either due to poor passing or control. We also underestimated Leicester's counter attacking ability and passing under pressure. How these sides when passing find their men like Velcro, yet ours are either under or overhit - beats me. It doesn't help of course when our goalie insists on kicking out a moving back pass to God knows where, instead of stopping it first as hes under no pressure....nor high kicking from hand for one of the smallest players we have in Lennon to try and head. I had to watch from home today through my illness and Howard sickened me by laughing on screen at one of his wayward clearances into touch. He needs to have the comfort zone dragged from under his feet now....bad enough losing goals through the oppositions good play, but its shameful when the goalkeeper's negligence puts us behind...and worse still, in Howards often pantomime fashion. God knows what our young defenders think if hes their gauge. Id like to say well at least we got a point in the end after all that....but its no consolation.
