Into the final three we go as the blue half of Manchester pay a trip to Walton.

The Wigan game was not part of the inspiring gallop to the end of season that we expected. Quite the contrary as we looked far too pedestrian at times despite having some good footballers on the pitch. Wigan were awful but we were blighted by our old nemesis of this season, namely being inconsistent and dogsh*t up front.

City and Everton used to enjoy a cordial relationship based on our similarities, except we'd won some stuff over sustained periods. The arms across the M62 evaporated when they got bought over by obscenely rich arabs. I mean how dare they? The bad blood between the two clubs was cemented with the Lescott tug of war, which we lost. The thing was that their then manager and a large portion of of their online ultras behaved like bad smug bells. We've further antagonised their masses by somehow always beating them at their place.

They have got a fantastic array of talented players and their ability to play fantasy football every summer will naturally draw a great deal of envy from those around them. I don't pity Mancini's job as he's continually three games from the sack and always comes across as a decent sort. Balotelli is wonderfully nuts. This is likely to be one game too early for Tevez which is a good thing as on his day he's fantastic. De Jong and Kompany are under rated and Yaya Toure is a complete midfielder who's had a good first season.

We can't speak about them without having to tackle their penchant for "The Posnan". Bad teds. It's something they picked up from Europe, where they failed to follow the standard procedures for newly participating in the UEFA Cup, which we excelled at:
Act dead cool so you look like you belong, rave over the playmaker from the Balkans and his boss through balls, get wildly excited over gubbing some average team and then go out to the first decent team you meet. Get with the script City ffs.

We've got some players back now, well Arteta and Cahill, so Moyes has some options. One of which I hope is not Anichebe, can we not get a super injunction on him being in the starting eleven? I'd go all radical and start Beckford up front with Osman behind him, Cahill hasn't done anything to warrant a start lately. Neville and Rodwell offer the directional passing range of FIFA 95, until Fellaini is back there's not many alternatives though. We need Arteta to look like he did on the left briefly before his hamstring broke down and an aggressive Coleman on the right so we have some attacking intent. Can't see any change in the defence, but hope Baines gets over his blip on the weekend.

It's a fixture we've done well in and one that has a bit of needle. There's a little pack of clubs gathering below us which could derail the traditional end of season face saving exercise. You'd consider the voices of discontent to be that bit more shoutier if we finished eleventh rather than seventh, which is worryingly plausible.

Get into them Everton.

Wait, that's almost exactly what they did.

Anyway, one of these days City are going to realise that they're actually better than us and turn us over but in the mean time I think we'll grab yet another three points off those melts. I only regret that it won't be enough to stop them finishing fourth.

Speaking of which, i think City could do with buying their 'Social Media Executive' a haircut. He looks like he belongs in an 80's funk punk band:

Ha one of the things i look forward to here, the chico report-like the Anichebe starting 11 bit :D think he super injunction not to score tho  and that city turn your back celebration gets on my nerves a little bit, saying that for the talent city have there win at blackburn last week was their 1st away win in any comp since boxing day so they should really win more away and be doing better than that, which Everton turn up who knows you decide-the better the player we get back from injury the worst sometimes we seem to play as tho the players sometimes i am probably wrong take it for granted they will play in the next game no matter how they could play in previous games-think we have only lost twice in 6 years home or away one i can remember been just before the final a few years ago,i think we will get a draw at least and hope we go for the win.

Lets not forget our ambitious former centre half who should be making his first appearence against us since he decided he needed a new storey on his house! Perfect storm stuff!

Let's hope arteta doesn't play in his speedo's and flip flops like the last game.

Or Cahill doesn't think mid week training consists of lager with kopites on the continent.

Both on the bench for me.

Same here. Beckford and Anichebe have both been pretty useless lately. If we play both of them upfront hopefully atleast one of them will turn in a decent performance. Neville looks knackered. Could we risk Ossie and Rodwell in the middle? Why is Moyes resting Coleman for four games to go? He doesn't look to be suffering with an injury and always adds urgency when he comes on. Let's have a go at them like the RS did.

There's nothing to play for, so I atleast hope to see a positive line up with players capable of 'having a go' in an attacking sense. I don't want to see Hibbert at fullback and Neville in midfield, and it would be great to see a creative player in the middle of the park again, whether that's Osman or Arteta, I don't really care, but getting them as close together as possible would improve our link up play, rather than having them on opposite sides of the pitch. Rodwell will have a lot of defensive work and will undoubtably struggle at times, but this period of starts should be looked on as a learning curve. Giving him the role of distributing from deeper positions is something I'd like to see, rather than drifting around the pitch like a Jack of all trades.

I understand some of the criticisms that come Cahill's way and I'm all for change in that position (in terms of style) but with Saha out and Moyes unwilling to push Rodwell further forward, we need someone to make the ball stick, and he's the best we've got in that respect. Beckford and Cahill caused problems against Chelsea and have a decent understanding, It'd say it's the best bet for goals at this moment in time. If anything, it gives us a bit of shape with Beckford running in behind and Cahill playing in and around him.

I'd stick a tenner on Moyes starting with the exact same team that were ineffective against Wigan.

Anichebe's almost nailed on to start, because he was especially awful.
