Everton v Portsmouth
Goodison Park
4pm KO

Everton are likely to be without star man Mikel Arteta for this Sunday’s clash against fellow European hopeful’s Portsmouth at Goodison Park.

Arteta has a stomach problem and has visited his native Spain to see a specialist to sort out the injury.

David Moyes is still hopeful Arteta can play although it might have to be with an injection, Moyes said “I think there is a chance, I think he could play if we needed him to play. I am going to see how he is and hopefully get him back in the squad if we can do.

Everton have some minor worries through illness with Steven Pienaar and Joseph Yobo playing through the Manchester City game on Monday due to being sick, Pienaar was taken off in that game after 55 minutes due to this but they are likely to play.

Manuel Fernandes is another doubt after coming on as a sub for Steven Pienaar but being subbed himself due to a slight groin strain on Monday night’s game.

Portsmouth only have 2 players out of the clash, Pedro Mendes (Foot) and David Nugent who probably was hopeful he may be able to face his boyhood club has a groin strain.

Everton captain Phil Neville is hoping the blue’s fans back the players in there quest to get that 4th spot, he said "It's a fantastic stage of the season to be at, everyone must be excited. The players have a massive part to play, the management has a massive part to play, but the supporters have an even bigger part to play and if they want to be with us in the trenches then they just need to keep going like they have been doing, getting behind us.

Likely team: Howard, Hibbert, Yobo, Jagielka, Lescott, Carsley, Osman, Neville, Pienaar, Cahill, Yakubu
