We have a keeper who is no longer worthy of a place in a team with CL ambitions. We are missing our most experienced defender and club Captain. Stones and FM have less than 100 PL games between them and we don't defend as a unit at all. Plus we have a manager that prefers to leave our defensive strategy to chance - do we mark man to man or zonal ?

Add in no natural header of a ball, nor any ability to track runners and this is why we ship goals for fun.
 
It was a pen all day long for me. His toe might've scrapped the ball but he's wiped the fella out in the process. The whole thing looked awkward and I'd have been screaming for a penalty if it was down the Street End.
 
i dont care whether it was a pen or not
thats beyond the point, we cant defend and we are throwing away points every week
this squad is being absolutely wasted by how inept we are defensively

What do you actually mean by take responsibility and do better? Sounds like fluff that is easy to say for fans and commentators, but what are you expecting? No errors from him? Perfect positioning? Top class with no poor runs of form? How do you know he isn't and doesn't take a lot of responsibility in how he trains and his attitude?

Young team with a lot of talent and it isn't going right, I personally will have a huge amount of patience for what I can see being built at the club.

Well said. I agree with you 100% on having patience with the squad but do the players have the patience to wait for this team to become successful? Whichever way you look at it, if the likes of stones, rom etc really believe they are good enough to be champions league players then they need to start doing it consistently now. One of those two players has gone up a level this season, the other has gone backwards imo. That's what I mean by the responsibility bit, stones wanted out in the summer, wanted champions league football. At the moment he seems to have forgotten the basics of defending. Lukaku has taken on the responsibility of being our main man up front and is leading by example. I don't think stones has this season.

Oh come on, if I'm being harsh then the mention of his name has nothing to do with us scoring ... I mean it doesn't have anything to do with it anyway but just come on. Not saying that the loss was his fault but I think psychologically the complexion of the game changed after that moment and it was the point in the game where we lost it.

Lukaku best player on the park today for either side. if I was him I'd be out the door in Jan. Criminal to ask your side to score 5 goals for a home win no matter who the opposition is.

Lukaku is a good bit ahead in the experience stakes though, remember.

I am not so sure of this mass exodus that people fear, at least not all in the same window, but if they do go its just the way of the game. We will have new youngsters and new players.

Sorry bud.. Was joking, he was badly gash. But tbf we did score about 5 seconds after Martinez prepared him.. we probably figured it was the last chance of a getting for a decent pass forwards lol
