Can't believe I missed this game, I've seen every everton game this season live (I live in aus) and nodded off an hour before kick off at 1am. Miss living in England for football. How did we play? Chuffed we got the 3 points, 2 points off 4th now. Go to spurs and beat them and we are well and truly in the mix. The league looks like it'll be even tighter than last season, excluding Chelsea.

First off, Clattenberg is a simply awful referee. He completely lost control of the game. He just is good not enough to ref at the highest level

Also, the West Ham fans were a genuine disgrace. Not only did they not clap Naismith as he was stretchered past them, I saw a number of them shouting and making rude gestures to one of the ball boys

Thought Hibbert entered a solid performance at left back. His decent season continues

Delighted for Ossie that he got a goal and also out jumped Andy Carroll at one point

Glad to get the points as losing to those berks would have properly wound me up
FFS what happened to Naismith? Bad injury?

I don't mind West Ham fans, good bunch.

There were about a dozen of them dancing to whatever the music was on the tannoy at the end of the game.
Complete loons.

Was chatting to some of them on the train before and after the match. They seemed sound and knew that the league position flattered them.

Was that the lad who was doing some superb time wasting on our behalf at 2-1 ?

Barry getting wrecked by that bad texan Jordi Gomez poses us a big problem. Did you think he was ace? You’ll notice just how ace he is now with his absence in each game to come. Time for Gibson to step up, if he can, from injury or Besic to come in and continue his improvement. But can any of them adequately replace Barry’s worth to our midfield at the moment? I’m not so sure.

Defo missed Gaz today, it's no coincidence that our defence were struggling to retain possession without him dropping back to collect the ball and get us moving forward.

surely though besic is the hungy understudy who will want to usurp his master barry??

surely that makes us the best team in the world then?

Eto'o plays for Everton
They played the half season ticket advert before the match again today and it made me feel warm inside.

He clapped the Gwladys with that big smile of his when he was warming up.

He schooled the cockney yard dogs when he came on.

Eto'o plays for Everton you say mate?

Yes he fkn well does and it's a truly beautiful thing.

I thought our defence bossed it all day today, we didnt struggle with set pieces or corners...Distin had anything in his pocket, McCarthy stood out again, solid with his tackle where he got the ball first and then the man, but didnt sit on his hands even on a yellow (fookin throw in for getting booked wtf). Personally i think Barry wouldve got a card in this match and they would be playing him for it. Did fine without him. Eto'o sheer class, cool as you like.

Have to disagree with you entirely David, I'm sorry. The reason for the conservatism is down to one thing, a lesson learned and accepted by Martinez. That one thing? The Chelsea goal fest. He realised that he had to compromise his gung ho passing game just a little in the name of security. He has not made 'bizzarre' decisions, he's made difficult decisions. More power to him.
Ironically I thought that was our best performance of the season given we went two down in the first 5 mins or so and Chelsea scored with every chance they had.

We played better, had more attacks and good chances to score and bossed the midfield against by far the best midfield in the league. To say the score line flattered them is an understatement.

We also played well against Leicester and Arsenal. Our performances have gone backwards although now we aren't getting punished or commiting as many individual errors.

We're playing with fear now although we both agree it can probably be traced back to the Chelsea game.
