Half Time. Everton 1-0 Blackburn

A fantastic first half performance from Everton. They deservedly go in a goal to the good.

Everton started brightly and pressed home their advantage after Arteta flicked on a header for Johnson to volley home from inside the penalty area. The goal on 10 mintutes was Johnson's 10th of the season, a great way to celebrate his 26th birthday.

Blackburn offered nothing in reply and Everton kept pressing for the second. Fernandes had the best opportunity to double the lead, first having a thunderous effort saved before putting the rebound wide.

Andy Van der Meyde was guilty of missing a fantastic chance, volleying wide from five yards.

Blackburn will have to drastically improve if they are to get anything from this game. Everton have dominated the first half and will surely look to double their lead in the second half.

Star man of the Half - Manuel Fernandes.
