Another Everton-inspired media blackout incoming then. I don't know why I give them this power. All I saw was a team of individuals looking for someone else to step up and do something and not themselves.

They are the best of the world at giving you hope, just the merest taste of it mind, only then to smash what little there was into a million pieces and laugh in your face.

It's decade after decade of this. Mind-mumbing, crushing disappointment. On the off chance, that we might qualify for Europe's second-tier competition, or now even the third-tier one, only to then be embarrassed in the group stages.

Just bugger off will you, Everton.

SV’s game is a little off...I hope he hasn’t been infected by the Potty Syndrome pandemic at Finch Farm. Crab’s case is getting serious. I am thinking Mrs Lukaku’s doctor might need to pay our lads a visit...desperate measures and all that...

The teams we've been beaten by at home. My god. It's just not good enough. We laugh at the RS, but really, our home forms not much better.
I’d be surprised if there’s ever been a season when so many visiting teams have won on Merseyside. The RS and us have been a shambles at home, mostly against ‘mediocre’ teams.

We are where we are because none of the players are very good, simple as that and that’s down to recruitment. We hype our own players up and tell each other how great they are but the reality is they are all very average. We are a mid table side with mid table players.

I would argue that this season, hope is the one thing they gave us. But as we all know, it's the hope that kills. We can still sneak into europe but if we don't, it would hurt twice as much given that we were up there all season
True indeed.
I wouldn't want to sneak into Europe though. Bollocks to that, we could have cemented a position in top four if we had a bit more backbone.

Not going to let Everton ruin my weekend, it is what it is..... poor teams know how to play us. Defend deep let our poor ball players have the ball, defend corners. Burnley deserved that win make no mistake about it.

Not gonna scapegoat anybody we know who are good enough and who aren't, on that team today I'd argue 4 of them wouldn't get a game with the vast majority of teams in the league.

Truth is the league table does lie in our case, we are punching above our weight. Said a few weeks ago we are destined for 9-10th place, anything above that we have done well.

A cup win looks unlikely and i hope we don't throw in the towel after next weekend.

Enjoy your weekend
They didn't defend deep. They pressed up the pitch, we made mistakes and they capitalised. The same way that Fulham and Newcastle did. Only when those terms were ahead did they sit back.

Utter dross. No urgency by a side chasing the game. Sideways and backwards passing. Iwobi on the pitch for ninety minutes longer than he should have been.
Coleman should have started at right back. Holgate is not a right back and offers nothing going forward.
And the two players we have that can deliver a killer pass, James and Sigurdsson, not on the pitch.
I’m not sure what’s worse...watching this rubbish or being beaten to a European place by Moyes’ West Ham.

We have some good players but overall we are an average prem side who are punching above their weight. We are workman like and battle but overall there is a lack of quality. Holgate average at best, Davies the same, Sig and Gomes to alike, both lack legs which is a key ingredient in the middle of the park, Iwobi very poor, GK situation needs addressing, injuries haven’t helped either, Etc. Some positives so far this season though, hopefully more to come but it’s a work in progress under Carlo and I hope he gets it right sooner rather than later. Can’t see us getting top 4 now but would have taken Europa League before a ball was kicked this season, hopefully we can still do that and we need a massive performance next week V City, which if we can would give us a great chance of winning the FA Cup. Poor showing tonight and need a positive reaction next time out. Keep believing, onwards & upwards!!
