Disappointed with the result but not the performance, thought we defended solidly considering we were forced into changing our back line twice through injuries. A fully fit DCL getting in the end of 1 or two of the chances we created and we probably win that I reckon

Think we’ll see movement on the Coady front now given how long term Godfrey will be out for and Yerry’s inability to not crock himself doing basics.

Effort has been there, quality hasn’t.

It’s nothing we didn’t know before the game though.
Yep, I think the most you can expect from Gordon, Gray and McNeil is about five goals apiece over the course of the season, none of them have ever demonstrated a consistent level of goalscoring in the PL whereby we should expect more than that.

The only proven slotters we have in the side are DcL and Dele, one can't stay fit and one can't get into the starting eleven even when he appeared to be the only option, so we definitely need to bring in at least one attacker who we can expect double figures from.

On the plus side, we looked much stronger defensively today.

Very disappointing game. We looked completely devoid of attacking threat. Never mind 2 def mid, we need a creative midfielder and a striker, maybe 2. As good as Onana might be, would rather it go on Gibbs White. As things stand this is going to be a very long season

Not horrific, but we somehow have to bring in a creative midfielder and striker sooner rather than later or it will be a very long season.

Onana & Gana will help our defence which should be a lot more solid, but we can’t defend for 80% of the season

Yup, but hey, many of the fans buy into it with their "wasn't too bad", "not too disappointing" and "we'll be okay with more of that" kind of comments. The board get away with it because losing at home to Chelsea is acceptable to too many. It should never be acceptable - in any circumstances. Not if we are a truly big club. But then, we're not any more...
No home loss is acceptable and it never should be. Chelsea were total crap and we didn't look like scoring.

SACK THE BOARD

So no striker, 2 more players injured including the made from glass merchant which is no surprise and we lost.

Cracking start to the season Everton. ;)

Onana and Gana asap please and we defo need Coady in too and ffs Everton will you get a god dam striker in urgently, it really isn't rocket science.

Inappropriate Language
Pretty lame. We have very little different from last season so it was a high hope to get anything from today. Doucoure and Gray had shockers, Mina glass legs again and Gordon anonymous. Not good enough at all.
Bollocks, doucoure was good for 109mins out of the 110. He £ucked up big time though which cost us the game.
Gordon also ran his socks off, but not having a striker to play off kills his game.
Mina yeah ill give you, cant be arsed watching him pirouette then pull up with a muscle strain, happens every other game he plays.

Disappointing in that I thought we’d get spanked and instead we did ok against a top of the table side and just couldn’t quite get anything out of the game despite all our effort. We need a player who can create and score chances. Without that, for all that effort, it will end up worth nothing and we will have another season on the edge of relegation :(

Tarkowski makes us 10 times more solid at the back, good option pulling Mykolenko into LCB, surely Kegs time is up if we're after Coady, bringing Holgate on instead of him shows he's 5th at best.
Never felt afraid when Chelsea were in attack with Tarkowski back there. Would have been different in Keane and Holgate were in the middle.
