We had the best chances

McCarthy's hit and Naismith's header first halve were great chances

Lukaku had a good chance second halve that went straight at the keeper

State of those lot though, 300m and you have Lucas,Ings,Allen and Sakho in your team

We played well overall and were the better team.
Mori Funes looks an excellant find by the manager but he has to grow some balls and drop that coward between the sticks.
If we had a proper keeper we would have won that.
Barkley and rom excellant again along with jaga and galloway and barry

The redshite will be the happier,we were the better team for most of the second half. Lukaku was awesome, Galloway is just pure quality, after a shaky start Mori showed IMO he is going to be boss. Howard really needs to start commanding his area.

Carragher saying the ref bottled it and should have sent Lucas off.

Barry was excellent, best game I've seen from him in a while.

It seems a lot of our players had good games, we let them off the hook with the poor goal we conceded. Any other opposition of equivalent quality, that would have been a straight forward 2-0 win for us.

Feel bad for the lad but he is Hibbertesque in his safety first gameplay

I think he's a centre half according to Martinez... Looked like one today.

Our system is so dependent on attacking play from the full backs so you can see why we struggled going forward today.

they came with the intention to get a point and got it, let's be fair. 5 in defence as well as lucas and workhorses in midfield.

they wouldn't have got away with it if they weren't liverpool. imagine spending £300m including over a £100m worth on attacking players only to play 5 at the back against a team with 2nd choice RB's and CB's and 4th choice left backs. what an embarrassment to football they truly are.

Drop Howard for who?

Amid all of this doom and gloom, I'd like to point out how good our back 4 were, both individually and as a team.

Both Jagielka and Mori made important interceptions/tackles and Galloway was just pure class.

Exciting stuff.
