2025/26 Everton Women - Super League & Cup Games

Bro you're the one who apparently doesn't like women's football, but is repeatedly posting in a thread about it. It's not about being a happy clapper, it's about having a balanced/sensible opinion, and you know "supporting" the team/club. You know what I do if I see a thread on a subject I don't like or am not interested in? I don't go in it, cos I'm not some kind of weirdo.
I've said it's good that women are playing football and that its a genuine career path for young girls going forward as society needs to be about aspirations and dreams. However the overhyping of it and the way its portrayed as being up there with mens football does it no favours as the standards aren't at the desired level yet to justify the media hyperbole. In turn this makes people resent having it pushed into the mainstream when it hasn't earned the right through the natural process of being of the highest level (netball for example gets next to no coverage despite being of a much higher general standard) The misnomer is that women's football is turning a profit and our fans thinking our move to Goodison will make a good healthy profit for our ladies team is sadly not the case as women's football without having mens football supporting it financially would go bust very quickly (England's previous Euros win in 2022 the actual tournament made a loss financially and the mens world cup profits were used to cover the shortfall)

That is a fair post, however I think we have to discuss the women's game related to itself, as opposed to the men's as in many ways that is just not a fair comparison. There are also many times where there are passages of play that are a good as if not better than some of the rubbish we watch PL teams (inc ours!) play, especially when it comes to making good choices with the ball, nice passing moves etc - things that men don't have an inherent advantage in. Women's football overall might not be "turning a profit", I don't know the figures and tbh I'm not sure you do either, but I'm sure much like in the men's game there are many clubs that don't, and many others that do. Either way, it is a growing sport, and talking it down and discouraging ppl is not going to help it.

I wholeheartedly agree. This is my argument and frustration with it all as the media are putting it on a pedestal where it'll be mocked and shot down for failing to meet the standards the fan expects from watching the men's game. Take the penalty shoot out and Hannah Hampton where the media were exalting her 'brilliant' saves when the reality is the penalties were of poor quality. This in turn gets mocked by the fans of men's football creating a resentment of the overhype created. I've read about the finances in women's football and last season the WSL had declining attendance figures but to be fair part of the reason for that was because Bristol City were relegated. As for it being a growing sport it may be especially from a media created commercial sense but the proof ultimately will be bums on seats where tickets aren't given away or heavily commissioned and in turn the game makes a profit without the outside help of the men's game.

You could say the same about track&field, I mean look at the 100m results for instance!

Point being you compare against men's sports which is pointless.

Lower down WSL Clubs want Kenzie Weir, and all the Scottish higher up Clubs want her too. But she wants to stay at Everton, no matter if any bid arrives. But that is based on if she gets game Time. She was due to be in the main team last season, before her ACL happened in the final week of her loan in Scotland. But with More experienced players now joined, she may not get as much as she wants
Hoping to see us keep her and loan her out to see what level she’s at after her injury. That’s partly sentimental because her dad played for us though. I imagine we could do similar with Hobson. Wouldn’t want us to sell either of them at the moment .

Doubt Kenzie will be going on loan as only on a year deal. Issy is 50/50. Both played 2nd half in Sunday's friendly in a very young side the 2nd half

has anyone here bought a season ticket for the womens games?
I will try to go to one but a season ticket? No way!

Bottom line is - If the mens team are doing very well and progressing nicely but the womens team are crap I will be very happy, If the womens team are competing for their league but the mens team are crap and relegation threatened I will feel very unhappy, that's the reality I'm afraid. Anyone who disagrees with this perspective are lying or just want to pick an argument for arguments sake.
