Everton Youth Teams Thread

Very young team again. First goal for Virtanen at this level?
Indeed, - Denny, Baxter, Duke-McKenna, Moore, Scully, , Mampala, Ouzounidis are all 1st year Scholars, defender Michael Collins and the two forwards Korede Adeydoyin and Anthony Gordon are all school boys ,together with Warren on the bench.
Throw in Fraser Hornby and maybe the makings of a decent team next season.

What are people thinking about Virtanen? Does he have potential?
Coming up to nearly two years with the Academy and I can't remember him ever making a start for the u18s, been sub a few times . It may seem harsh judging someone I've never seen play , but reality is if he can't get into a relatively poor U18 team he's not going to be around next season or if he is be able to get into a highly competitive U23s squad.

Your right mate, hasnt started and as you say been sub few times, and the main word is FEW,very few

After saying recently I hadn't seen any whispers about the next big thing in the academy I've noticed Bobby/Rob Carroll being mentioned.

We signed him from Leeds a few years ago (when he was about 11 or 12) and apparently moved his whole family to Merseyside. Along with Pawel Zuk that is two worth keeping an eye on.

I WATCHED Everton’s Under-12 and Under-15 teams in action at the weekend.

I WATCHED Everton’s Under-12 and Under-15 teams in action at the weekend.

Apart from learning that the future of the club looks very, very bright – the Under-12s won 5-0 and the Under-15s beat Liverpool 3-1 – I also spotted what may be the second best player ever to come out of Doncaster to play for the Blues!

Bobby Carroll is a midfielder who is actually playing a year ahead of his age group at the moment – and is still sparkling.

Keep an eye out for him and remember where you heard his name first.

The under 15's are probably most of our under 23's now and Tom Davies?
