Bernie has put his car collection up for auction...

The former Brabham team boss has appointed specialist sports and race cars sellers Tom Hartley Jnr Ltd to manage the sale.

"There are many eight-figure cars within the collection, and the value of the collection combined is well into the hundreds of millions," said Tom Hartley Jnr.

"The collection spans 70 years of racing, but for me the highlight has to be the Ferraris.

"There is the famous 'Thin Wall Special', which was the first Ferrari to ever beat Alfa Romeo, Alberto Ascari's Italian GP-winning 375 F1 and historically significant championship-winning Lauda and Schumacher cars."

Also included are the Brabham BT46B, dubbed the 'fan car' and designed by Gordon Murray, which Lauda drew to victory at the 1978 Swedish GP and the BT45C in which the Austrian made his debut for Ecclestone's team the same year.

Billionaire Ecclestone took over the ownership of the commercial rights of F1 in the mid-1990s and played a key role in turning the sport into one of the most watched in the world.

Wonder if there’s another divorce on the horizon

Farce of a penalty which ruined what turned out to be a stop start event. Was a bit of a non entity for most parts really but this new race director really wanted to stamp his authority with an iron fist today.

Tax bill I think. More to the point, would you just leave your collection to be sold on the cheap after you are dead, or would you want to make sure that it's done properly and you got the worth out of the hobby you painstakingly collected over a lifetime? I know you can't take the money either with you but you would have completed the circle and seen what return you made from your choices.

Could get quite tasty if Varstappen and Russell find themselves lined up next to each other in the race on Sunday. Neither of them backing down after the row last weekend. In fact they are both going further.

Excellent handbags from both of them tbh

Just a shame that his sworn enemy is George Russell who isn't particularly likable either.

It's also pretty annoying that we only get 1 race with them at each other's throats, Hopefuly they both still hate each other by the time next season gets under way.

It's a tricky one, like asking whether you'd rather the rs or Man City win the league, the answer is neither

Is it, really? Although I find Russell a bit of a weasel and fairly unlikeable, Max is on a complete different level. To repeat a previous post...

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'd not get tired of punching him in the head, the fat helmet.

Max is a divvy, and George is that kid in school who always told on everyone to the teachers. I'm usually a big supporter of the Brits but it's hard to like Russell.

I get all that. However, Max is a bully: he's childish, petulant, and feels he can do whatever he wants without repercussions. He's a danger to other drivers.
