Sort of late to the party here, but I don't get why people use it. Same with Twitter really - I have a token account as I was told it was boss, but it quite clearly isn't. Is there any reason for it at all beyond online family Eastenders and for people to post pictures of sandwiches and stuff?

I can see the comic potential if people regularly posted this kind of thing, but generally all I see is a bunch of crap.

I have an account but use it once every two years, literally. Twitter I use for this site's purposes.

GOT is best.
 

It's to keep in touch with how people are getting on without actually having to ever talk to them.

Like 20 years ago if I wanted to know if my cousin had died, I would have to ring my aunt. Now I can just check on facebook and discover she overdosed on heroin without having to endure a 30 minute conversation about petunias. Brilliant.

It's one of those things I hate but wish I'd invented.

Just rang your aunt and your cousin is indeed dead. Bad news is her petunias are looking a bit droopy though.
 
It's what you make of it really.

If you have idiots in your friends list who post crap, thats what you'll see.

I barely post anything on there myself but it's useful for finding out about stuff whats happening, what my friends are doing (in a social way, not a nosey way), or just having a laugh.
 

Never go near Facebook, I wish not to see every aspect of folks kids lives, especially folk who care not about anyone elses kids that I already know about from my own kids, and in many cases are far from the Angels that they think they are.

Oh Hun he's Gorge, jus like u Hun etc etc blah blah.



I find Twitter to be much more entertaining, especially for things like .....opening up old wounds and trying to start a bitch fight between Mick Jaggers ex's.
