Player Valuation: £50m
I admit i have been a little frustrated at the perceived lack of activity at goodison, a few out going players would have pierced the supposed gloom, and apart from pistone and wright who were out of contract we have seen and heard nothing.

Lets balance this, does any everton fan actually believe everton under the guidance of moyes will not sign anyone this summer?

Lets delve a little deeper, what would actually satisfy?, 'a number' of signings the moment the summer window opens then nothing for the next two months? or perhaps 'a number' of signings at exactly equal partitions through the window? numerous last day signings a couple of seasons ago didnt go down too well, perhaps that option has been struck off, but we'll never know for sure.

Transfer windows are dictated by so many factors that mean no two windows are the same, patience is required, because without patience a side cant see past hoofing the ball in kick and run fashion in a vain and amateur attempt at scoring goals.

lets keep our nerves, hold our bottle, and stay the course.

last summer moyes was saying how great and important it was that he got the players he wanted in early. and to be fair both lescott and johnson went on to have excellent seasons. but think back to the pre seasons of both players. johnson did not score and lescott was far from convincing. and as i was at the bilbao game i speak with authority on the matter!

imagine they were bought as the season started.... the 'bedding in' period they both needed in pre season would have been during the league campaign. it's one thing to go on an 8 game goal less streak out of the spot light but if aj had started the season like his pre season form he would not have had the great season he had. same with JL.

So like it or not.. pre season starts next week and the longer we wait for any player the more likely they will start the season still adjusting to the club. this week coming is a massive week and i'm sure moyes is aware of that.

for the sake of the TEAM and for once not for the sake of the bank balance,we need to buy now!

Well maybe the club wanted to secure Arteta and Cahill first, wait until players returned from holidays and then buy.

I do not think so Ghost. Pre-season training started today and the season starts in 6 weeks or do the games come sooner with our Euro matches. This is very reminiscent of the close season after we finished 4th.

As I said on another post the only information we have with the club and players has been newspaper talk, gossip, spoke to a friend, you name it we have had it. But nothing from EFC at all and this IMO seems to ominous. Bearing in mind Pistone and Wright have gone, big ? over VDM after him talking out of turn.

Moyes I think himself said the squad was not big enough however I think that the lie of the land is perhaps they are believing we can manage with what we have. Do we need Nugent or any other striker? Do we need any Goalkeepers, Back four or midfield. Think about it.

Well I have thought about it and I think we are over reacting as usual. Lets be honest we are all waiting to slag off the manager and chairman (not me btw), its what Everton fan's do the best.

I for one never expected us to tie up Arteta and Cahill on long term deals, for me that is a major coup. I would rather sign those two guys on longer deals then sign anyone else, these guys are vital for us to move forward.

Just because we have not heard anything doesn't mean nothing is going to happen, I mean the first we heard of Arteta and Cahill signing deals was when it was announced, no speculation, just the unexpected announcement.

I'm sure Moyes knows what he is doing, he's not going to go into battle with no guns, he's not stupid.

Perhaps we should have a little more faith rather than jumping on the bandwagon.

For me, the last season doesn't end until the new signings are made, then I can start to speculate about line ups and get excited about the new season.

So, I think this week an announcement will be made either way, I hope we sign Jagielka, one other and nugent or smith.

An overall boosting of the squad is what we need.

what and spoil all the fun of those waiting to jump down Moyes's throat. Nah, I want to see no signings and miserable bastards lining up to moan.

Well you are wronging me Ghost because I will not be in that lineup. Also I am not over reacting just expressing an opinion if that is alright with you. If not you know where to stick it.

sorry mate, thought it was the old you coming back. I suppose its because were so used to disappointment. I would be worried if we make no signings in the next two weeks.

well cahill has made a gentlemans agreement to sign the new contract. he will not actually put pen to paper until he gets back from the Asian cup.

Forums are about opinions fellas. Its nice to see some disagreement on the site.

It doesnt mean, by having an opinion, that you are correct or wrong.

Battle away.

You should tell TX Bill that, he thinks the opposite!b)

meanwhile back at the ranch. It is the first day of pre season training today. Check out BT in this pic, anyone else think he has been putting in some extra training. he looks a bit leaner. Maybe it is just me.

and if you go to the next pic he may even have his will to live back. looks like a sense of humour has returned with him.

Good to see Arteta aand AJ on his feet also. And Carsley has learnt how to run with his eyes closed. Jedi knight he is,
