Former Benfica man Manuel Fernandes has yet to make a Liga start for Valencia, but seeks to change that particular statistic sooner rather than later.

"I always want to play," he said after netting twice for the Portuguese U-21s against Montenegro in the European Championship qualifiers midweek.

"I've wanted to play since the first day I arrived," he added, pointing out that he doesn't merely wish to be understudy to the likes of Baraja, Albelda and even Sunny.

However, he was realistic with it, pointing out that it's "never easy to play for Valencia."

"But no player likes to have just the odd two minutes," he continued.

now now, lets not condemn the lad everyone makes mistakes, calling him a [Poor language removed] or a gormless [Poor language removed] is way too harsh.

you never know he might come to us in Jan (y)

Yeah, if Moyes thinks the kid hasnt done anything wrong, and he doest get a run in Valencia, he could possibly be back.

I dont think weve heard the last from Manny, and even Lucho! Could very well be playing either of them if we can put a good European campain together!

Maybe so but it sure has hell won't be for 12M. If Everton do end up bringing him here at some point in the future, Valencia's gonna take a loss pure and simple.

hes only been there a month

come on peeps, perspective... it'd be like a side beating a poor derby side to go joint top of the league in early september and crowing about winning the league.

Yeah at Everton this season we are all realists Runner up in the league and winning the FA cup please. :D

The equation is simple.

He plays for someone else = he's gash
He plays for us = he's ace

We got a great character reference when he snided off to Valencia, leave him there.

but never miss the chance to piss on him from any available height!(y)

Not a dissimilar situation to that of Franny Jeffers. He ended up coming back to us on loan, but look at his career now. :)
