If this is true then it does add weight to the theory that its only a matter of time till he's announced as its just a case of waiting for this paperwork to be completed.

I imagine he is training with the squad, as we expect the deal to go through.

As soon as the FA gets its thumb out of its collective ass and ratifies the papers - so he can play.

Until then, it seems likely, that he hasn't signed any pieces of paper and the deal is still in the balance. Why buy a player only for the FA to tell you, he can't play?

What worries me, as I have put in another thread, is that the manager of Benfica was sacked last monday, and their new manager may attempt to pull a plug on the deal.

We can thank the bumbling useless fat cats of the FA, if this deal [Poor language removed] up.

I think Benfica as a club need the money dont they? In which case its not necessarily the previous manager that wanted to get rid of Fernandes, but more that the club need to sell him to raise funds. In which case I wouldnt be too worried. Just get worried when you hear; Russian billionaire buys out Benfica! Fernandes recalled!
