Even then Fernandes would be worth more to us, as Riquelme has about 3 years left in him and we wouldn't make much profit if any, where as Fernandes has plenty of years in him and can be sold on for alot more with his potential.

I believe Fernandes would be an asset for the future and an eventual superstar at Everon. Riquelme is a very expensive comfort tool(high wages obviously). Do we want an instant reaction that may be shortlived(Riquelme?), or an expensive gamble for the future(Fernandes)? tough call.

I think Riquelme would be more of an asset to us in the short term - his experience would be invaluable in the forthcoming eufa campaign (please let it be a 'campaign', this time ... ).
Fernandes is very much 'one for the future' - I'd love to sign him, but £12m is way too much (well, it seems we can't afford it, anyway). I'm still hopeful we can do a loan deal, though the down side to that is we'll develop him and then another club will come up with the money to sign him permanently in a year's time.
