Final game at Goodison - confirmed Sunday 18 May, 12PM

Said it a few weeks ago that i thought the game would stay on the sunday at whatever time. But not a fan of just leaving the FA Cup Final as the main game on one day, with no one else allowed to play that day. Any game should be played same day, just easily make it before the FA Cup Final or after. Pretty simple

I'm completely happy with it but cup final day should be last game of the season.

How about we just make it the cup final. That way we can play it on the saturday, and potentially win a trophy as a fitting finale to the grand old lady? Everybody's happy then, surely?

Or the Sunday early kick off match. The game is, indeed, a dead rubber and it also gives the Southampton fans plenty of time to get home. There is no particular need for us to be playing at 3pm that day and it would serve as an acknowledgement that it is the end of an era for probably the oldest remaining stadium in World football, one that was there at the founding of the Football League and home to so many 'firsts' including a World Cup semi-final.

If it's 7pm as rumoured then you kind of get the best of both worlds, still got all day to enjoy the build up and the game will kick off in sunshine (hopefully) then become a night game as the sun goes down. Poetic I guess if the final game sees the sun literally set on the old place.

ye i think that could work

still does the southampton fans in. those still wanting to travel will have been visiting for yeara and years and deserve a chance to see it go too like any committed away fan

monday would be a crime

Bizzies stood next to the gates will be enough to put off most people trying to bunk in tbh.

Extra stewards help, but people will still have a go, policeman stood between each gate looking like there ready to cart people off will be a bigger deterent.

Wouldn't worry too much about it though tbh

This whole thing with the FA Cup final is nonsense. If they're so worried about other games overshadowing it then I've got a radical suggestion, how about playing it after the league ends? 🙄

absolutely

but club world cup, nations league and other interantionals and friendlies, and pre season around hte world trips taking priority
