Final Test Event

We know there's one more test event needed at full capacity, so when will it be and who will it be against?

Surely it won't be the August pre season game, as if these thingsn need papework, bureacracy, processes etc they're not goign to leave it till a week before the season starts. Also there's the risk of not passing the safety certificate.

So the likelihood is it's going to be somewhere between late April and late June.

If so it wouldn't be the first team as they'll either be in the middle of the premier league season, or on holiday.

I don't think there's much appetite for another youth game so my thoughts would be a legends/cult heroes game similar to what the likes of Liverpool and Spurs did last weekend

Either of the May Bank Holidays would be brilliant imo if it needs to be earlier. or just a sunny June weekend game.

I imagine it will be a weekend when we have an away game. So as not to put an expectation on fans to sell out two stadiums on consecutive days. (As much as many would be happy to, for those travelling it throws up logistical issues).

Don’t think there’s any more international breaks.

11th May? (Liverpool have a home game every sunday through April, so police won’t want a test event on the same day). They currently are still on the Saturday on the 10th so would depend on tv (they have Arsenal that day).

I think it would be fitting if it was some kind of Coleman/Baines testimonial- I never liked that Baines didn't get one, and Coleman certainly deserves one too. Combining them both would be good, and should guarantee a sellout.

Surely Don Carlo can do his old chums a favour and roll in the Los Blancos just to [Poor language removed] the RS, and if Sergio Ramos can ref the game in his PSG kit it would be so better.

Honestly the Roma game is bound to be the marque preseason friendly so we will need something before at full capacity

If they dont fit it in by end of April i could see it being the bank holiday Monday 26th May. Give Goodison its send off the week before and have a proper opening day on the bank holiday with a game and entertainment afterwards.

The added fly in the ointment is a supposed laying of a new pitch.

Yeah, was told that a new pitch was getting done after 3rd test match,so would think May is most likely, to give replacement tlme to be ready for August.

A few websites were saying that the final test event are in May. If that's true, I cant see us being able to play it during the season with the first team players. With the final game of the season being on 25th May away at Newcastle, the test event could be Saturday 31st May.

If its not going to be the first team, I would still say that they cant have it on a day when either us or them are playing at home, so that probably means a midweek, which probably isnt the best test because even though we will have midweek games, most of our games are going to be weekend games.

I think it would be better to have the test in May, so if there are small changes the club can make (not the travel stuff), they can make them before the preseason in August.

I would have thought we would play a preseason game in August as well with the first team and probably Roma again, because of the ownership.
