Final Test Event

A few websites were saying that the final test event are in May. If that's true, I cant see us being able to play it during the season with the first team players. With the final game of the season being on 25th May away at Newcastle, the test event could be Saturday 31st May.

If its not going to be the first team, I would still say that they cant have it on a day when either us or them are playing at home, so that probably means a midweek, which probably isnt the best test because even though we will have midweek games, most of our games are going to be weekend games.

I think it would be better to have the test in May, so if there are small changes the club can make (not the travel stuff), they can make them before the preseason in August.

I would have thought we would play a preseason game in August as well with the first team and probably Roma again, because of the ownership.

I`d say if they`re looking to fill the ground it will have to be on a weekend. A legends game is a great shout and would be a good way to get a crowd interested. The first team can get a feel for the ground in the pre-season friendly. Could even play a second friendly before the season starts so that the players can get a couple of games under their belt and make it more like home for them.

We know there's one more test event needed at full capacity, so when will it be and who will it be against?

Surely it won't be the August pre season game, as if these thingsn need papework, bureacracy, processes etc they're not goign to leave it till a week before the season starts. Also there's the risk of not passing the safety certificate.

So the likelihood is it's going to be somewhere between late April and late June.

If so it wouldn't be the first team as they'll either be in the middle of the premier league season, or on holiday.

I don't think there's much appetite for another youth game so my thoughts would be a legends/cult heroes game similar to what the likes of Liverpool and Spurs did last weekend

Either of the May Bank Holidays would be brilliant imo if it needs to be earlier. or just a sunny June weekend game.
