Flash poll… who wanted England to win ?

Hold my hands up here, as a proud Welshman I wanted Spain to win tonight… in the same way some of you love it when we can’t beat Gibraltar… but aside from that, there’s a few more than me I’ve noticed who were rooting for the Spanish which shocked me to be honest, so a quick 24 hour poll may shed some light on things.

Don't blame the colonials not wanting there masters to win.
I always support who ever the bitter conquered nationals are playing agaist,
gets boring as they rarely win anyway.
Would be nice to have the chance to see them fail in a big game.
(No I don't mean your cup final when England come to town)
I would like nothing better to see Scotland in Particular get beat in a final,
god i would be so happy looking at them crying
but that's really never going to happen is it ?

….i wanted England to win but not nearly as passionately as the Welsh wanted England to lose. I wasn’t in the least bit bothered, yet I know my Welsh son-in-law was desperate for Spain to win.

Funny how it means more to them, I equate it a bit to the way Evertonians want RS to lose. I look forward to the Olympics much more than the Euros.

I'm Welsh and wasn't bothered either way. I cheered England's goal and it would have been nice for my kids who were born in England to see them lift a trophy.

You may say the problem is caused by the Welsh, however I do remember a lot of us supporting England in 86. The constant lauding it over the other nations has put in a division where that can no longer happen en masse. Much like how went from the friendly to the unfriendly Merseyside derby.
