Cal

Player Valuation: £40m
Celtic are Rumoured to be Interested in a summer move for Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher.

Scotland International Fletcher is said to be frustrated at his lack of first team opportunity's over the past two seasons and would favour a move in the summer to cement a first team place .

News that the player could be set to leave Old Trafford has also alerted Everton Manager Davie Moyes and Ex-Celtic Manager Martin o'Neill now at Aston Villa.

Dalkeith Born Fletcher has established himself as a regular pick for Scotland and scored a sensational goal against Lithuania having come off the bench for only his second cap. His goal took Scotland to the play-offs for Euro 2004.

On The 26th of May 2004,he captained Scotland to a 1-0 friendly win against Estonia in Tallinn. This made him the youngest Scotland captain since
John Lambie of Queen's Park led the side that beat Ireland 7-2 on Saturday, 20 March 1886. Lambie was aged just 17 years and 92 days.

Yay or Nay?

Yayish.

He'd be a decent player for us, hes just a squad player at best for United tbh.

no thanks the old-trafford-ites hate him and justly so, he'd be benched here so maybe he might go to scotland.

on a related note, nace, mcfad, and fletcher moving to rangers or celtic would do their national side the world of good, playing regular and getting european games "should" help them improve as a unit.

He's one of those players that you need in a squad, one that's not going to whine about being on the bench but can do a job when called into the squad.

However I'd rather have someone that can add to the first team and I think someone like Flamini could do a better job.

I have to say I think he is a good player, but if he wants to play central midfield where the hell is the room for him?

cahill - arteta - fernandes

Can we honestly say Darren Fletcher would get ahead of these three? no way, so if he is getting annoyed at the lack of first team football at utd, he would kill himself having to sit on the bench next to BT!

I tend to agree with Suits although he may mature in the next few years as many players have done. Late bloomers are normal well worth having in any squad. What I've seen of him he has flashes of brilliance and then disappears, and most worryingly hates to be tackled, one hard knock sends him into hibernation, a trait that doesn't disappear with age!

I think if hes any good Keaneo wil have him for sunderland!

Cal your a great man for the transfer stories i saw on the bbc gossip page that there was some red tape with any potential Nugent deal! You dint know the in outs or any other detail do you mate?

I know it all just speculation but a bit of fun!

I suspect it involves the time to the end of Nugents contract against what Preston are wanting. If we leave it for another year when he is ours for nothing, will he wait, will Preston want to cash in if they miss out on promotion, watch this space.(y)

No idea what the Nugent red tape is, but have to say not at all sure we need Fletcher. Before him we want Manno, Nugent.

Thanks Monts a gent as always!

I found this link below its of tribal football which isnt that reliable and personaly i dont see how an agents row would put the scuppers on a move!

Never the most accurate source of info mate. I cannot see what Seasman has to do with it, Nugent is Base's client, if he wants to come here without a hitch he stays with Base, end of story, it sounds like pie in the sky to me:blink:
