Player Valuation: £8m
Lots of chatter about utility players making taking 5 strikers a possibility.
23 man squad. Why take 3 keepers? James and Green will do.

Rooney
Defoe
Bent
Agbonlahor
C Cole

Lampard
GBH
J Cole
Young
Milner
Lennon
Carrick
Cattermole

A Cole
G Johnson
Terry
Ferdinand
Cahill
Baines
Jagielka
P Neville

James
Green

For instance. Having utility players available to fill in for first choice selections saves for luxuries like taking 5 strikers. And if a keeper gets injured, Jagielka can fill in as sub. Just a bit of left field thought for a saturday afternoon.

Wont happen. The ones in bold wont be going to the World Cup.

Yeah, Capello doesn't fancy Young and he'll be taking Heskey even if he has one leg. Crouch should be in the squad an' all. And now there's a big band wagon about Bobby Zamora, although neither him or Bent will be going for me.

Expect -

Rooney
Heskey
Defoe
Crouch
C Cole

Gerrard
Lampard
Barry
Carrick
Beckham
Walcott
Joe Cole
Milner / Wright Philips / Lennon

Cole
Johnson
Terry
Ferdinand
Lescott
Upson
Cahill / Bridge / Jagielka

Green
James
Foster

James
Robinson

Johnson
Cole
Ferdinand
Terry
Jagielka
Upson
Brown
Bridge (unless Lescott has a storming second half) (10)

Hargreaves
Barry
Gerrard
Lampard
Cole
Walcott
Milner
Beckham

Rooney
Crouch
Defoe
Owen
Heskey or Cole

That's the squad I think will go. There are players I don't think should be there, Heskey and Bridge in particular, but we don't have enough friendlies left for anyone to make a bolt from the blue. This also depends on Hargreaves being fit.

Sad to say Bruce I don't think Jags will make it mate, its going to take him some time to get up to speed by which time it will be too late..............but it wouldn't surprise me to see Rodwell get a surprise call up, history shows a surprise kid is included in these squads:o

Not sure who else would go instead of him. Woodgate and King are both fine players but terribly injury prone. That leaves untried players like Cahill. Centre back is not a position of strength for England.

Capelo has said many times that only fully fit and proven players will go...........it has nothing to do with his ability but all to do with fitness and time to impress, he's been out for so long and there are not many matches left for him to prove his worth

Has it really only just been over a month since I posted this originally.
I shall try a different way...
First eleven
James
Johnson Ferdinand Terry A.Cole
Milner Gerrard Lampard J.Cole
Rooney C.Cole

Second Eleven

Green
P.Neville Cahill Jagielka Baines
Lennon Cattermole Carrick Young
Defoe Bent

The way I see it is Gary Neville is well well past it. Bridge is not playing for City. Beckham has not earned the right to go. Barry looks average at city. A lot will depend on Lescotts fitness and getting back into the city side. That said, Rio Ferdinand has not made a full comeback from injury as yet. I still do not rate Wes Brown. Upson has a shout. Rumour is Hargreaves is knackered in a Dean Ashton kind of way sadly. Walcott is like Beckham in that he has not earned the right (though it did not stop him going last time).
The more I look at it the more I do not see viable options other than Everton players for the full back spots as reserve options.
