what a rigmarole
the store is one of the uk's top 4 supermarket retailers
the food was packaged fresh 'fruit & veg'
the issue was a rather nasty, rather large, rather sliming and shitting all over the produce, slug.
if it hadnt been spotted, the chances are it would have been cooked and served.
worst of all is, where was the food stuffs sourced? do the farmers use pesticides? if so, if there a possibility that foodstuffs from certain factories are tainted due to a lack of quality control.
shocking, and they only offered me a replacement or a refund.
i suppose the reward for a good deed is to have done it and done it well.
when i said ''poisonous'' and ''insecticide'' and ''lack of quality control'' i was taken through the procedure for issues with foreign bodies in foods - i had to but in, it a ''biological organism'' most likely ''swimming in bacteria''.
whats worrying is, what other packs had it slathered through to get to the pack i picked up.
You should have kept the slug and sent it to Latch, it could have played with his snails................
I remember some months ago, again in a top four supermarket, I found some crumpets covered in mould. Pointed it out to one of the staff who took them from me and went out back. I watched to see if anyone would come back to check those remaining, no one did so I did it myself, six more packets found and the [Poor language removed] hit the fan from me, managers apology all sorts a reassurances, bollox in other words:angry:
Told you i'd get rid of them somehow didn't i.
Seriously, nothing funny about finding [Poor language removed] like that in food, i still remember vividly finding a cooked caterpillar amongst the cabbage in my school dinner.
