Football Changes

Player Valuation: £70m
Make no mistake about it. Football has changed, Man City and Real Madrid have changed it.

Moyes reckons soon transfer fees will be a thing of the past, and he could be right.

Liverpool need to buy players, they haven't. Arsenal are desperate for some kind of old head to get them going Cantona style, and they haven't signed anyone. Man U are relying on one man, and they haven't brought anyone else in.

Are teams content with what they have? Or are they refusing to pay the £450m transfer fee for some jonny foreigner, or £400m for his English compatriot?

Have clubs decided to shuffle their pack, look at what they have on their table and decide to do some work on the training field for a change?

I reckon so. The arrogance of Moyes coming up to the window was weird, can he afford to take the risk that nobody else will get crocked?

Can Arsenal truly believe they can win the title?

Are Liverpool happy that their misfits can get them 4th?

Are Chelsea and Man U in cahoots, and agreeing not to strengthen their squad to give one and other an advantage?

Why has no club gone in for Moses? Apart from that disgrace of a team up the road.

I honestly think it's changing massively, and within 5 years we are going to see no transfer fees at all, and it will all be on the contract of the player.

Who agrees?

What are the implications of such evolution?

He signed for Wigan.

Wouldn't be surprised to see transfer fees reducing (in numbers not in value); but until the vermin scum that are the football agents have been removed from the game then I'd imagine fees would be around too.

Carry on reading the line you highlighted.

can't help thinking that there's a hell of a lot of foreign dross at the moment as well, padding out squads and continually moving on, i'm sure we could fill the squads with players from over here. theres a lot of foreign players who come over, don't really play much and take the cash out of the country.

This is very true. We have some good young talent that we can nurture.

So no other teams went in for him? You know this how?

Though to be fair, you might be right, who would pick them as anything but a last resort.....

I don't know it, but a highly rated youngster goes to Wigan for 1.5m? Something not right there.

There's a global recession on at the moment and the financial arse has dropped out of soccer for a wee bit, it will return though.

The only thing is, wouldn't that still be hard for us to sign a player?

Ie. Good Player runs out of contract. Chelsea and Everton come in for him (And with no bids etc to accept) then chances are he's off to Chelsea.

Well I still think football is changing, your not going to get away with a one word answer here mate.

Although I'm off to watch Hustle so I may not reply.

I was just bringing balance, I think what's happened recently will bring a much needed dose of prudence but ultimately football as a brand sells and has never been more popular largely due to it's accessibility.

So, what you said is a little extreme and probably not going to occur but didn't want to fire you down while you were flying on the cloud of opinion brother.
