TX Bill

Player Valuation: £80m
After commenting on Coyney's thread about artists, I thought back to my time at the World Cup in '94 in Dallas.

Argentina getting ready to play Greece (I think) and I was all hyped up because I was finally getting ready to see Maradona in person.

Needless to say he failed a drugs test and was banned for the rest of the tournament. Never did get to see him play in person.

Gutted.

Which players would you liked to have seen in person but never had the chance?

Bill in 66 I was waiting to see the great Pele did not expect to see him hacked down every time he got NEAR the ball was not happy.

Those who played for Eveton,

Would have loved to have seen Dixie live, they reckon the roar from the crowd when he scored his 60th was the loudest ever, he would have been something else to watch smashin goals in left right and centre.
Also, The Golden Vision. Mikel is being touted as the modern day Golden Vision, if that is true what a player Alex Young was. Also Bally and Labby too.

In terms of World Footy,

Socrates of Brazil. That World Cup in 82, the clips i've seen, he looked sensational. I've got a soft spot for Georgie Best, he is my non-Everton footballing legend, seeing him at his best live would have been a pleasure.
I could go on, Bobby Moore, Stan Matthews, Eusebio, Beckenbauer, Cryuff, Zidane, too many to mention.

For Everton, the one's mentioned. Dixie, Lawton, Hickson, Young, Vernon, Ball, Harvey, Kendall (Saw Ball playing for Southampton and Kendall as Player-manager but both well past their peak)

Non-Everton, Pele, Garrincha, Gerson, The Hungarian team of the 50s, Di Stefano, Gento, Duncan Edwards, Bobby Charlton, George Best, Jimmy Greaves, Cruyff's Ajax, etc, etc
