I speak some German, albeit I am not great, B1 level I guess, I can understand the context easily but speaking fluently is something else indeed.

I learned bits of Croatian, cuz I had a Croat gf back in the day and used to live in Zagreb, but it is beginner stuff. Saying that language is difficult would be a massive understatement. (like most of slav languages)

What about you? Which ones can you speak, or would like to speak in the future?

Go!

Brexit means Brexit.

But seriously, it's a good thing to know and use other languages. I speak French and have awful Italian after letting it fall into non-use. I'd like to speak Russian to at least understand what my family are prattling on about - my aim is to replicate my dad who worked most of his days in the Middle East and could understand Arabic but never let on - his poker face must have been top notch.

Spanish was/is my main non-English language. Not all that perfect anymore but it used to be pretty good. Then came French which was never great but led to a bit of helpful Catalan for the yearly trip to Catalunya.

Picked up a tiny bit of German whilst trying to learn that a few years ago but it's long gone.
